Bad Draft etiquette or just stupid or both? (1 Viewer)

The handcuffs he has taken are worth less than they would be in most leagues.

This is a 10-team league that starts 2 RB and no flex, and one team (his) took starting RBs from just 2 NFL teams. This leaves 12 starting NFL RB jobs (32-20) to allocate among the remaining 9 teams. Counting RBBC situations, 2 productive RBs are available as backups for nearly all of those other 9 teams, making it less important that they have handcuffs like Turner, Betts, and Morency.

Such a strategy might have made more sense in a 12- or 14-team league where RB can be used as a flex starter and teams' RB benches are thin, but I don't see this owner's leverage in this league. It will eventually become evident that the value of his need for starters at other positions will be greater than the value of his supply of backup RBs.

Bad move.

Somewhere in the fantasy 101 text book, there must be a paragraph that says;

1) Don't draft to depend on trades for your success.

2) Don't draft to depend on injuries for your success.

he can draft whoever he wants, i dont see the pain here. if he likes the chances of Michael Turner and Chris perry so be it, they coudl carry him to a deep playoff run if the starter is hurt or they could do absolutely nothing, thats fantasy football. Its his strategy, god knows RBs go down. And to say "I wont trade with him because he alienates other players, makes less sense then his draft strategy.
I was the poster who talked about alienating other players. Just to clarify:1. I did not say I would not trade with him. I said that it's dumb to alienate the other players. That's a very different statement than the one you made, and it's one I continue to stand by. Even if a strategy works, if it is mean-spirited, there can be long-term ramifications. Plus, there is something to be said for sportsmanship.2. I posted before I saw a posting of his entire team. I relied on the initial poster's assessment that he "drafted everyone's handcuff". Once I saw his actual team, I thought it was reasonable drafting, and I have a post somewhere about 15 posts ago that says something to that effect.
