Baker Mayfield Going First? (1 Viewer)

Smart move imo. I’ve been saying all along that Mayfield is the only QB worthy of a 1st round pick. If they don’t grab Mayfield it should be Barkely. Only 2 players worthy of the 1.01

It would explain them bringing in Landry.  Get a receiver who can catch a million balls and get the most accurate passer in the draft.

He is deadly accurate. Throws a mean deep ball. An incredible winning mentality and desire to win.

It was always a no brainer, imo.

Everyone on my feeds are acting like it's a done deal. I've been saying all along I hope they take Mayfield but let's see it actually happen first.

As a Steeler fan, there are some certainties, weather sucks here, taxes, death and the Browns suck.  Please draft Mayfield first.  Deal with that headache for 5 years.

As a steeler fan, pleeeaassee let the pitiful browns take mayfield #1. That would guarantee Cleveland the basement in the division for years to come.

If not Barkley, Mayfield is the best choice. Allen is too much of a wildcard and should be going late 1st round.

I’m not buying it.  It’s gone from the pick likely being Darnold, to Allen, and now Mayfield.

When the dust settles, I think pedigree wins out and Darnold is their pick.

May have some interesting implications - word is that the Giants' ownership wants a QB, particularly Darnold if he's still on the board at 1.02. If Mayfield and Darnold go 1-2, then what do the Jets do? Those guys were their two targets as far as I know.

lol @ Chubb and Barkley going at 9/10.

These guys need to get out of the stats game and watch some college football tape.
It is what they would do as a GM mock.  Watch the youtube video if you want a better explanation.  They don't view RB as a vitally important position to success of an NFL team.  Patriots prove it every year.

Yeah, but what about all those Super Bowls Ladainian Tomlinson and Adrian Peterson won?

I've mocked CLE taking Darnold at #1, but if I'm CLE I take Barkley at #1.  That puts an awesome weapon on the team.  By doing that you know one of Rosen, Darnold, and Mayfield will fall to you.  No matter who falls you say that's the guy you wanted all along.

The only reason not to do this is if you want to trade #4 or think one of those QBs is far superior.  And nobody can agree who is the best QB this year, so that's not the case.

Amazing there's been this much smokescreen about which QB they prefer. Good on Cleveland if they take him and get either Barkley or Chubb at 4.

Wow...Browns are finally going to get it right?!

Gordon-Coleman-Landry-Njoku-Duke are super complementary if they can find an actual QB.  That offense could hum pretty quickly.

Take pass rusher at #4 IMO.

This is the argument for "it's all a smokescreen".  Jets realize they want one of those two.  Browns still want Allen.

Browns say "ok we're taking Mayfield".

Giants ownership had already kind of said "we are taking darnold then".

Jets say "wait a minute if you really like Allen almost as much as Mayfield, what if we offer you our 2019 first to move up from 1.3 to 1.1".

Browns then get the guy they actually wanted all along, and first choice of non qbs, or trade down from 1.4 to the team that wants Rosen.

That's not necessarily realistic, but it's why they keep up the smokescreen.

Baker is going #1. That’s happening, but figuring out 2 will be extremely difficult since the buzz is that the Giants don’t love these QBs. The Bills could move to 2 but would they take Allen or Darnold? Do we live in a world where it’s Mayfield, Allen and THEN Darnold?

Unless they really are down on 2 of those QBs and are afraid to get stuck. ... but I agree with your thinking but I'd go Chubb at #1

It's my feeling, barring any unexpected new info or proposals surfacing & based off multiple conversations I've had on & off the record up through the crack of dawn this am, that the #Browns have settled on Okla QB Baker Mayfield for the #1 pick in the #NFL Draft tonight at 8pm.

Kiper really going mild on the hate. Disappointing. Still sticking to his guns about “immaturity”. Acting like a kicked dog though.
