Balt Rb Info : Willis Mcgahee - Impacting Rice (1 Viewer)

Long time FBG here. This thread will be doubted by some but it is 100% truth every word I write. I share the info because it is helpful and relative. My friend works at ESPN as a producer. We are in a league together for 10 years. He told me Mcgahee has some type of leg injury. The injury is undisclosed, he has no specifics about it. He told me he may be cut but either way expect him to have no impact on Rice for the time being. WIllis did not get any carries last night. He has given me very solid info in the past on game day. Not sure how this will turn out but it is confirmed by AS and Mort according to him.I am deciding between Rice and Turner in NON PPR and If i believe this, it has to impact my decision making because the TD vulture is only issue I have with Rice and early first round pick.GOod Luck
Say what you will about this post, but I'm glad to see things like these in the Shark Pool. As mentioned above, the Priest Holmes inside info was doubted but it ultimately proved to be right. Now it's possible the Ravens will give McGahee next week off and try and hide / buy time for him for Week 1, but even if this story never comes to light I certainly applaud sjdogs for sticking his neck out here knowing that some  comments would be coming. Thanks sjdogs, regardless of how it turns out. All info is valuable so thanks for sharing.
realize that "inside info," whether it turns out right or wrong, is useless when the provider has no reputation. even moreso when its 3rd hand. if this board were to be filled with everyones "inside" info, it would get ugly immediately. and its already pretty terrible, i mean, how many more deangelo vs jstew, sjax is stud/#####, insert random 4th string hype train, rate my team, tell me who to keep etc.
you dont get it. not many people have a long time friend who interfaces every day with the NFLL guys at espn for his show
No, everyone gets that you have 4th hand inside info.

your a child Robo. I would say the verdict is still out on the accuracy of the story. I drafted last night and my friend had no more specifics but stands by his original info.

That's totally uncalled for. You know that your info is sketchy at best and impossible to verify. The smart move is for everyone here to check out your story and see whether it adds up. The evidence so far suggests that your rumor has no weight at all. While its possible you're right, why should anyone believe you? We are posting on a forum. People lie or exaggerate. And you can't offer anything but hearsay. It was one thing to post a rumor and let people do what they will with it. But criticizing people who don't agree with you is ridiculous. And it doesn't make your story any more believable.Personally I think the rumor is a load of crap and I'm downgrading your future advice for the way you've handled this.

Here's what you should have said:"This is the info and this is my source. Take it for what it is worth, that is all."

Say it once and leave it at that. No need to repeatedly insist that we respect the credibility of your "someone told me that someone else told him" kind of story. Everyone can make up his/her own mind as to whether or not to believe that simply working at ESPN gives you insider info into the NFL. I tend to think it does not.

Any new info here? How long would you hold onto McGahee with the hope he is traded? Is there a deadline which Baltimore would likely move him by, like the day before the first game?

I would think that the chances of McGahee getting traded are decreasing since Balt picked up a CB. I just don't know what other dire needs they have that they are willing to part with a very solid RB backup that could be starting for other teams.

McGahee, Kruger missing from practice

Running back Willis McGahee and defensive end Paul Kruger were curiously missing from the portion of Friday morning’s practice open to the media at the Ravens’ training facility in Owings Mills.

That may not mean much as the pair has yet to sit out practice, but their absence was somewhat surprising.

Wide receiver Mark Clayton, who is dealing with a concussion, walked onto the practice field without a helmet.

Offensive tackles Jared Gaither (thoracic disk in back) and Stefan Rodgers (right ankle), defensive tackles Kelly Talavou (left calf) and rookie Terrence Cody (left knee surgery) and guard/center David Hale (bruised tailbone) did not practice.

Cornerback Fabian Washington (bruised ribs) and offensive tackle Oniel Cousins (concussion) returned to practice.

That story was updated shortly after it was posted. Harbaugh said that McGahee was there and that the reporter missed him. http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/rav...er_mcgahee.html

If Mcgahee is truly hurt or was traded as rumors have been suggesting move Rice to #2 on your draft board.

I have no problem what the OP posted and as a matter of fact I appreciate it. He stuck his neck out on the line posting something that he thought could be useful to all of us knowing that some of you guys would bash him for it just like this. You can chose to believe what you read or you can chose not to. What if his info is accuarate and you guys gave the OP enough grief that he'll never post something like this again? I know I wouldn't. The shark pool is intended to post info that could be helpful to us fantasy wise. Most everything posted in here is speculation anyway and we decide what info we want to use for our own benifit and what info we don't.

So it appears this rumor didn't pan out since Mcgahee played last night and scored a goal line td. Same as last year....No leg injury to be concerned about?

The only hope is the Baltimore Brass figures out McClain or Rice can also run the ball in from inside the 5 just as effectively and deal Willis while he's healthy and has value. It's truy amazing how they continue to take the td's away from Rice.

Personally, I think they are doing the right thing. Rice had one shot at the goal line. I don't mind McGahee taking some of the blows that get delivered in short yardage. Clearly Rice is the featured back and McGahee is a complementary back. Rice will get his when he isn't playing a great D like the Jets.

I wanna trust this and believe me I think McGahee's a scrub but the question needs to be asked, if this is confirmed by Schefter and Mort, why havent they announced/tweeted it yet?
Although this thread is rediculousm Shefty and Mort are not the only reporters.
