Sanatna '06 = 6-4 2.99ERA 1.02 WHIP

What am I missing here? Santana is the sexier pick because he's a strikeout pitcher and Halladay is a ground ball pitcher.

Depends what you are looking for in Santana/Halladay. If I was the Brewers and I had a chance to get either I would go for Halladay but that is because he is a groundball pitcher but if I was the GM of most teams I think Johan would be the pick.

There is a small merit to this argument. I would think a team like the Cardinals with superb defenders on the infield might have more success with Halladay throwing ground balls all day. But, for most teams, I think this factor probably wouldn't be worth passing on Santana.

Papelbon should win the Rookie of the Year.... and he might get the Cy Young if the RedSox win the division and he maintains a certain level of success. But there is no way that he is the MVP.

I think there are a lot of teams who play in band boxes that would make this arguement though. (Rockies, Reds, Brewers, etc.)
