MLB has the most powerful union of any of the sports. So unlikely. So frustrating MLB doesn't have a salary cap/floor. Would make it a much better league. Any chance it will ever happen?
MLB will bring back 7-inning doubleheaders & a runner will start on 2nd base in extra innings in 2021. There will be no expanded playoffs or universal DH.

This is exactly the opposite of what they should have done.
I think the union would be on board with a salary floor. They certainly would be anti-cap, but the luxury tax already functions as a soft cap of sorts.MLB has the most powerful union of any of the sports. So unlikely.
I'm happy with nonexpanded playoffs.MLB will bring back 7-inning doubleheaders & a runner will start on 2nd base in extra innings in 2021. There will be no expanded playoffs or universal DH.

Great news but they should have also done the DH.MLB will bring back 7-inning doubleheaders & a runner will start on 2nd base in extra innings in 2021. There will be no expanded playoffs or universal DH.

My hot take is that Baseball should have ties after 10 innings. Football has them, hockey has a modified version of it. It’s like a 5000 game season, you can have some ties.
Fine with that.I'd rather have ties than start a runner at 2b.
I don't mind it. If you don't want to play it out why not put a runner on and see what happens? Not having the DH extended though makes no sense.I'd rather have ties than start a runner at 2b.
I was always for playing until someone wins but not anymore. That is OK in the playoffs but playing a 19 inning game in June makes no sense.Great news but they should have also done the DH.

DH is one of the few bargaining chips the owners hold going into the CBA negotiations this offseason. Value has diminished because everyone saw it was good last year and expects it to be a thing now, but I understand why they're holding on to it as leverage. We'll have the DH in 2022 and beyond.I was always for playing until someone wins but not anymore. That is OK in the playoffs but playing a 19 inning game in June makes no sense.
Hard to believe they did not put the DH in NL. The time has passed for pitchers batting..most of the pitchers do not want to bat or run. Playing different rules in the WS is unheard of in pro sports.
