Any fans?

Is this guy known to really be on the ball?

A couple of interesting notes:

He doesn't have one single pitcher projected at higher than 16 wins - he had Sabathia at 16...This seems low.

He sees a regression in all the major Red Sox contributors from 2008. Pedroia, Youk, Lester all are taking a dip in their 2009 numbers.

He seems to think Francoeur can slightly rebound.

He's down on Haren a bit.

He swings from Matt Wieters nuts calling his minor league season of 08 the most historical of all time. His projections are sky high for him.

Any other interesting facts?

First time I have read it (have been a Shandler reader the last 7 years, added Prospectus this year). I liked it, not so much as a fantasy resource, but a nice synopsis of the last season. I chuckled in the Wieters blurb when they said his minor league season was comparable to only a couple of others. And that included Glen Braggs. I think many people are high on Wieters, although obviously Prospectus is really, really high on him.

RE: Francoeur

I'm pretty sure all statistical projection systems show him as a rebound candidate because of his established pre-2008 performance level. Even a dead cat bounces.

If a corner OF with a 72 OPS+ doesn't improve, he's not going to be a major league regular for long.

RE: Matt Wieters

Last year they were almost as high on Jay Bruce. Touting him as the 2nd coming of Larry Walker. Projected as an instant .300+, 30 HR hitter.

I purchased an on-line subscription to the site.

It is very well written, a bunch of fresh articles everyday.

One of the better writers is Christina Kahrl. You don't see many women sportswriters, and almost none when it comes to statistical analysis.

So, I did a little Google research on her and I found out something about her personal life: ;) :kicksrock:

I had no idea.
