Baseball Wagering (1 Viewer)

YTD: 39-41-2 -4.05u

For Wednesday day:

CLE -1 -123 2u

I also like the U8.5 in SF, but will probably pass. I'm guessing Bonds will sit though which would be a plus.

I placed a rather larger wager (for me) tonight.

5 units over 7.5 LaD vs Col (-109)

Basically both teams have been hitting the ball pretty well, and I don't have much faith in either starting pitcher.

I'm also on Atlanta and St Louis tonight for smaller plays.

g'luck
:banned: Did pretty well here. An Atlanta victory would have capped off my night very well indeed, but as it is, I'll be content with the +5 units. Hopefully I can get something going earlier today.

One three teamer looks good to me today:

Baseball - MLB - 904 San Francisco Giants +145 for Game Pitchers: Chris Carpenter (must start), Noah Lowry (must start)

Baseball - MLB - 905 Pittsburgh Pirates +123 for Game Pitchers: Zach Duke (must start), Miguel Batista (must start)

Baseball - MLB - 907 Houston Astros -150 for Game Pitchers: Roy Oswalt (must start), M O'Connor (must start)

half a unit at risk to return four units.

i did hit anothe parlay last night - notposted - 25 to make $ 702 - did manage to lose $150 of it on the pistons and a couple of baseball totals - all unposted due to time constraints - does that make me hot or just lucky? I figure just lucky, but .............. i do like the following:

Tex/LAA O 11

Cleveland -156 - although very chalky IMHO

Pitt + 124

Chicago Cubs -134

The only one of these I am playing is the Cubs;

I hope to return with evening picks

Alright, took a quick look and didn't see anything this afternoon that jumped out at me.

HOWEVER,

tonight I'm all over Houston (Oswalt) -145 to make 2.5 units. Give me one of the best pitchers in the National League against a rookie, average almost 4.5 walks per game, and I'm on it like white on rice.

g'luck

Good hit last night guru - I wanted to get on it but was too caught up in the basketball game. I saw Oswalt as well tonight and it seems like a low number, so I think I'm going to play it as well. :bye:

Wow... posted that +140ish was good value on the yanks last night but didn't have time to post a bet.

Tonight, Randy Johnson at +121 against Clement?!

I know RJ isn't himself... and I know it's in Fenway... but come on.

I also just bet Oswalt (3 to win 2).

On top of what's been said, I like the lefties/righties #'s for this game on BOTH teams.

I tend to go too heavily on the Astros, but since Sonny Brong Doll endorses it, I'll add 3u on the Astro ML.

Christ, It's an orgy in here  :excited:
Either an orgy or a bloodbath. Now I also have a 5 unit parlay pending on Oswalt. I'm either gonna be happy tonight, or Garner is waking up with a horse head in his bed.

Seems like everyone is hitting parlays lately - I need to make one :excited: Who did you have in your parlay today?

Layed off the SF under luckily. Adding for tonight:PHI/NYM O9 -124

Bullpens should be limited after last night and the Mets bring out Soler for his first MLB start.

Tommorow I like Minn +145
Curious about your reasoning here. CC has been solid since coming back while Radke is washed up and loves to give teams a 2-3 run head start in the first inning. The only way the Twins win with Radke on the mound is if they smack the #### out of the ball and with the way Sabathia is pitching I don't see that happening. Doesn't help that Stewart just went on the DL either.
:X Horrible

Minn was a borderline dog system play today. That is why I took a shot on it. Turned out poorly.

Trying some live action. Got the Yanks at 3-1 for a unit.

Currently down 4-3, bottom 3rd, 2 on 2 out

Seems a fair offer

fwiw - sorry i misled ya'll on the crubbies for anyone who followed ( and I hope that was no one); i over already cashed the nyy/bos over and look OK on the mil/cin over;

later tonight I like sd -117

GLTA

Well that was fun, Oswalt throws a gem and the first dude that relieves him gives up a triple.
Time for some Ks
5.23 ERA? I didn't know Lidge sucked now. Is it that tough to get that Pujols homer out of your head?
Major control problems - he was replaced as a closer a couple of weeks ago but now he is at least part of the committee if not back as the closer

Lidge ####### sucks, seriously.

Still can't get over Scotty Pods taking him deep.
You're right, that one was probably a little more traumatizing
What's even worse is the fact that Cordero is one of my closers, but Lidge gave up too many runs to record a save.Lidge must be a major head case

Ok, so maybe this sports betting stuff isn't as easy as it looks. I've made 10 bets of 1 unit each in the last 5 days and I'm down 4 units.

There's gotta be a way to make money doing this. I suppose it would help if I actually knew something about baseball.
Update: After today, I have now made 18 bets of 1 unit each in the last 9 days, and now I'm only down 3.5 units. It helped that I won all 3 of my bets today because everything left in my account was on the line! (I only started with 10 units to see if I'm going to like this or not.)Still, with an ROI of -19% and a pathetic win rate of 39%, I'm gonna need to find something that works or I'll be re-loading my account soon.

yes indeedy, this covered the 3u mistake on the astros. I'm going to have to keep an eye on those Live Lines.

I cannot believe the turning point of the Astros game was a friggin balk. If that runs doesn't score, no way Garner pinch hits for Oswalt in the 8th, and he throws a complete game SO.

Last night was a total abortion. :hot:

I am looking at Pettite today vs. the Nats, but my better judgement says to stay away.
I put 1 unit on Was +106It is a dog system play.
 Dog system has been working for me. Like last year I pick and choose the plays but so far so good.Today I was able to make a WITHDRAWAL from my gambling account. Always a fun thing to do do. :pickle:  :pickle:  :pickle:

Nice job, GB my better judgement and not playing baseball.Of course the other game I had today was the KC/Det over, and I think they covered that in the 2nd inning. :D

I might layoff of baseball until the playoffs, I have been awful this year.

I know RJ isn't himself... and I know it's in Fenway... but come on.
 Tonight I think it's easy to bet AGAINST the Sox again. Kazmir +102? He owns the Sox and we've got Wells coming off the DL after a miserable start in AAA where he got lit up. Tampa Bay has a solid offiense and WILL post some runs on that tub of goo....

YTD:

6-0 on Red Sox Games

8-1 overall

TONIGHT'S WAGER: Tampa Bay (Kazmir) +102 vs Red Sox (Wells) - 1.5u

TB: LHP Scott Kazmir (7-2, 2.39 ERA)

The southpaw is riding a career-high five-game win streak. Only 22 years old, he owns the Rays' last three wins at Fenway. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Kazmir is the first left-hander to defeat the Red Sox in Fenway three times before his 23rd birthday since before World War I.

BOS: LHP David Wells (0-1, 15.75 ERA)

Wells is 18-12 with a 4.44 ERA in 44 career appearances at Fenway Park.

Players to watch

Aubrey Huff has a .391 career average against Wells with a home run and four RBIs.

Alright, I took a night off after the Astros debacle. That was a 13 unit swing and I was pissed.

Still unhappy, and probably chasing, but I sent in one biggun'

LAD/Was o8 6.5 units

I still contend Livan Hernandez is very hittable, and Tomko has never been a lights out type pitcher. Both teams have been hitting decently lately, and the Dodgers have been a run scoring machine. I was going to play them straight, but I don't trust Tomko, and Washington has some late inning heroics.

Played a few small parlays too.

Nice matchup in Minny tonight, Hernandez vs. Liriano. I'm on Hernandez, as the price is right.

bonus prop bet:

Dallas to win by 1-3 points, +892

g'luck

I bet this over as well :bye: But only because you talked me into it

I quit betting baseball, ya know :loco:
