Ohh absolutely, there's nobody I'm worried about in the NL. Mets with Glavine, Trachsel, and El Duque? All they can do is hit and the Dodgers are just as good, likely better. The Cardinals are fading fast. Carpenter and ?? The Pads are the only team I'm a little worried about. I actually thought Peavy may be lined higher tonight, but se be it. I'm not betting it, but I'll be sweating the whole game. GL.
How about the Astros? If they make the playoffs (big IF), I'll take Oswalt/Clemens/Petitte over anything the Dodgers can throw out there.

Yep, I'm worried about the Astros. Go Cardinals.

Plays for the Day

Milwaukee +105

1. Jeff Weaver stinks

2. Capuano is pretty good

3. Cardinals are in freefall

Baltimore -115

1. Bedard is pretty good

2. Red Sox have packed it in

Toronto +170

1. Yankees are resting players

2. Nice price on a live dog

3. Toronto actually wants 2nd place over the Red Sox

I think this is a good spot for the Cards. The whole Weaver is worse than Capuano statement keeps this line pretty low. I think the Cards get the job done tonight. Better Milwaukee numbers available right now, +115 or so. I'm laying -119 with Weaver. I also laid -117 with the Dodgers - I like Kuo. He throws lots of strikes and the Dodgers are rolling along pretty good. A win tonight nearly locks up a playoff berth.

I wouldnt have it any other way. You on the other side is good for me. WEAVER is terrible. Maybe I should just play the over as well since Capuano hasnt been as good the 2nd half as he was the 1st half.

If you like Milwaukee the Over is correlated, go ahead and play it.

 Thanks for your permission to make a play I was already contemplating.

Yankees went with the A lineup tonight. Cano hitting 9th. I'll still take my chances with Toronto at +170. Yankees are disinterested (I hope).

Edit. :bag:

He might be a pain in the ### (no might about it), but when he actually does make a call on a game (rarely), he can be quite on target. Congrats MP. Nice call.

Yeah, good spot for the Cards here in this big pitching disadvantage. I didn't think it was a bid disadvantage. I did want to take the Braves tonight, but I wouldn't be home at post, when the best Braves number would become available. I should have just put in an order at Mansion and hope it got filled.Phils won, ohh well. Go Dodgers.

Marlins will be the play tomorrow and it's pure situational. I don't even know who's pitching. The Phils got into Florida late last night, well this morning. They played on adrenaline today from the late game tomorrow. They will be feeling very tired tomorrow, this is the game that will get them due to the late, late game last night.

Marlins ML and some RL. And I haven't a clue who's pitching.

Also, in games that have no importance look to bet Unders - players will look to just take their hacks, get to their cars and go on their 4 month vacation. They don't want to play anymore and the umps could care less as well. Take the Phils/Nats game late last night. If you watched the game, you are nuts (I did), then you could see the umps strike zone was HUGE. He didn't want to be there. This is what all of the no meaning games will be like this last weekend.

Good luck.

Could you place bets all through the rain delay on this game? Did you hit the under?

Great week of baseball for me. Winning night every night from Sunday to yesterday. Today was the first losing night. I'll now take the weekend off in baseball until the playoffs. I dont really cap baseball that much and only bet it to combat boredom so I will take my to this point +400 and play with it in the playoffs. I will not commit more than that.

I did not play the Under and I don't believe you could place the bets anyway. I should have known though. I tuned into Comcast just before the game and it was pouring in DC. I didn't think they would even play, but I saw on mlb.com the game started at like 12 eastern time. That's unreal.

I went to bed and the game was just starting. I couldnt believe they started that game but after listening to WIP all morning today, they really had no choice but to play the game.

See who makes this decision? I thought the Phils wanted to maybe play the game, who knows. Why not just not play and make it up if you need to on Monday? The Cards have a game in hand they can play if they need to, why not here?

From what I hear, they were still scared of a 3 way tie between Philly, LA and SD. With a makeup game on Monday and a 3 way tie, things would have gotten HUGELY messy. I didnt know that MLB controls the games in the last week of the season. Usually the home team controls a game until it starts and then the umpires own the game.

For all of the times the Giants bullpen has burned me this year, thanks I know it all evens out in the end. Dodgers are nearly in the playoffs as well, 25:1 shot still pending. Also, cashed my two bets tonight. Gathering some steam as we approch the playoffs.

Just threw a couple units on the Twins to win it all at 28:1 at 5 dimes. It dropped down to 12:1 five minuets after I got my bet in.
Think I'll let this one ride through round 1. I also have 2u on the Dodgers at +2271 and 1.25u on the Dodgers at +1400. Mets have been struggling down the stretch and losing Pedro hurts. Any thoughts on how these series' will play out? SLBD, any insight on the Dodgers?

Bill - you look to be in pretty good shape entering the post season. Good job on those lines.

Yeah, it would be nice to get some change out of these after a brutal regular season for me.

Yeah I hear ya, I had a pretty bad season as well. I've done pretty well for myself come playoff time the past few years, kind of hope to keep that trend going this year.

Instead of starting a new baseball thread just yet, and since my question pertains to last year, I'll just go with the old thread for now. Someone be sure to start a new thread in the coming weeks. :football:

Anyhow, I was just curious to know if anyone followed the Dog System (using my script or not) and how did it do? TIA

I did not follow it all the way through but i can say your script saved me a ton of time capping games and I thank you very much for the same

Anyhow, I was just curious to know if anyone followed the Dog System (using my script or not) and how did it do? TIA
Details please.I actually came here to ask a related question. It seems to me that if I put $50 on EVERY dog of 6-7 or more EVERY night, it would make money. Anyone know if this is the case?

RN:

Basiclly you are playing dogs, but only under certain circumstances. There was a code developed to screen the plays a couple of years ago. You want to look for dogs who are not more than +150, not off three or more losses and not going against a top 30 pitcher in either league - at least I think that is all of them. Keep an eye out, I am certain that with baseball around the corner the new thread will be popping up shortly.

Ok, gotcha. Thanks. So basically I'm on the lookout for dogs anywhere from 5½-6½ to 7½-8½ who aren't on a 3+ game losing streak and not playing against a stud pitcher. Makes sense. I remember several years ago, Danny Sheridan had a pretty simple system that he claimed made good money. When a team wins its third game in a row, bet ON them until they lose. When a team loses its third game in a row, bet AGAINST them until they win. You see 10+ game winning and losing streaks all the time. Wondering if the juice would catch up to you though.

Helped me a lot and I did well with it. It is still in my favorites.
