An owner who seems to have no grasp of today's game. An owner who is willing to spend money but has no concept of how to spend it properly and refuses to rebuild, instead thinking he can sign a couple names and become an instant contender.

Who fits the bill in your mind?

I vote for the Astros owner.

I second your nomination of Drayton McClane. He just wants to play with his toys (Biggio, Bagwell, Berkman, Oswalt) and doesn't care about the rest of the roster.

The Cubs' previous owners (Soriano, Big Z, Aramis) might also fit the bill. On a smaller scale, the current Royals' administration has been pretty dumb with their money.

The Wilpons and the Mets have handed out some bad contracts (Luis Castillo, Oliver Perez) but this pales in comparison to what Al Davis has done.

That was going to be my other choice but McClane is pretty awful as well. I can't think of any team/owner outside those two. The Royals are incompetent but don't seem opposed to "rebuilding". They may screw it up but they at least give it a try. Houston and Baltimore seem to have a disdain to building their farm system and for whatever reason keep thinking they can compete.
