Given the plethora of Harrison threads, I figured we'd put this up to a vote. Which one ranks higher at the end of the year . . . total fantasy points scored only, no debates on PPG or adjustments for missed time, etc.

I'd say Marvin because I think he'll play more than Gonzalez. But, I wouldn't take him at WR20, either (I'd take him at WR 40).

I'm an odds man, if it's straight up I'd go with Harrison because he's the starter and Manning can throw to him in his sleep.

If there were odds involved, I'd be tempted to take the upstart Gonzalez. Lots of folks thinking these Buckeye receivers are going to break out this year it looks like.

here are the WRs i would absolutely take before harrison:

moss

owens

wayne

edwards

housh

chad johnson

colston

fitz

holt

smith

burress

andre johnson

that's a total of 12

here are the WRs i'm less certain of taking ahead of harrison, but would likely do so anyway:

boldin

marshall

calvin johnson

that's 3

here are the WRs i'd consider likely to finish on par with harrison this year:

welker

holmes

coles

cotchery

driver

roy williams

jennings

ward

bowe

evans

chambers

santana moss

anthony gonzalez

that's 13

in short, i wouldn't rank him better than WR 12 this year. i think he has an outside chance of posting WR 13-15. i think he has a very good chance of posting somewhere from WR 16-29.

the difference in point scoring from WR16-29 was 26 points on the season (1.625 pts/game) for non-ppr and 48 points in ppr (3 pts/game). no one can reasonably predict where in that range he will wind up with such a small point differential -- therefore, i'd only take guys from the third group over harrison that you're high on this year and have specific reason to think will perform better than i've got them ranked.

Harrison was offering PHENOMENAL value for a time but his ADP has crept back to the WR20 level, so my hopes of stashing him away on a ton of rosters is dwindling fast. That said, I can't see how he doesn't summarily outperform Gonzo this year provided he stays on the field.
