The thing I will always remember about that game was it was so cold the helmet paint was chipping off all over the place. Never seen anything like that. Wasn't it like -15 wind chill or something? I also distinctly remember Coughlin's cheeks being so red I thought they might start bleeding.
From Coughlin's Monday presser:
Q: Are you going to do anything to protect your face?A: I don’t know what else to do. I am not wearing a mask. I scare people enough with this mask.

Two things of note. The Packer oline is as healthy as theyve been since early this year. These are the same guys (add Lang - Colledge) that stymied Harrison/Woodley and Co in the Superbowl last year. Don't underestimate the Packer Oline taking this one as a challenge and dominating.

Also, most NFL games are decided by turnovers. Rodgers has thrown 6 Ints this year and didn't lose a fumble. Manning threw 16 picks, and fumbled 4 times.

The Giants have found something on defense. Starting to smell a lot like a few years ago with the Packers playing the role of the Patriots.
Remember the Giants won the 2007 NFC title in Lambeau in overtime, 23-20.
And that has exactly what to do with a game 5 years later?
It tells us the Giants know they can go into Lambeau as underdogs and win a playoff game. I hope it's 0 degrees like last time

Coldest game I've ever been to

On a very sad note: Packers O-Coordinators son is missing and believed to fell into the river yesterday. This is going to be quite the distraction for the team.
I doubt it..If anything they're going to rally around Philbin. The Packer family is pretty tight.
Isn't this the same son who served jail time in 2009 as a teenager for sexually assaulting two girls? As a father of two girls, me-thinks the young Mr Philbin may have had some "help" falling into that river.
Almost 3 years later? Nah I can't buy into that. Plus the security guard didn't claim there were other people present when he heard him cry out..

Yes, but they could be reminded of the 1969 Giants who lost on the road (also as underdogs) to the Packers in week 12. Maybe it kind of evens out to "it really doesn't ###king matter what happened in past years".
How many of those 1969 Giants are still on the team?

Too easy. Won over a grand this weekend on the Giants and Patriots.

Giants already claiming victory:http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/7440288/2012-nfl-playoffs-jason-pierre-paul-says-new-york-giants-gonna-win-game-vs-green-bay-packers
Nice, glad to see them starting to get into the Packers' heads early! This is the kind of confident attitude that can really carry the Giants this week through practices and into the game. Indomitable and stout-hearted, they will be watching that game tape from their game earlier this year and comments like this make it apparent they're focused, laser-like, at the task at hand. Good to see the pros do a little :stirspot: to get the psychological edge over their opponent.
This definitely got into the Packers' heads. Psyched them out before even taking the field. I love to see this type of upstart braggadocio attitude bringing a team such confidence in the post season. Well done by the Giants players to win this battle in the press before the game even started.

For one thing its a psychological edge for Eli Manning. He's won there before in the playoffs. That matters.
maybe even drag Favre out to QB for the Packers too.
Couldn't have hurt.

Favre certainly couldn't have played any worse than Rodgers did.

Rodgers did not look like himself in this game. The Giants were rushing 4 guys most of the game and there was often times plenty of time to make throws, but he just was not liking what he was seeing. The most effective play for Rodgers all day was tucking the ball and running. Rodgers missed Jennings on an over throw which was his fault. He then had a ball slapped out of his hands which was another TD (probably o-line fault), and he missed Finley who was wide open on another throw that he usually makes in his sleep. Now GB did not help out their QB with countless bone headed drops, but Rodgers himself played quite poorly from what we have come to expect out of him.The Giants looked like the better team all around including the QB position.

When you watched that game last year did you see GB play conservative or aggressive in the second half? I saw a team that had a lead against an inept offense because of the backup QB and nursed it. How will Rodgers respond in the second half of a cold weather playoff game when he needs to be aggressive? Neither of us can answer that as it has yet to be seen. I have seen Eli succeed and fail in those instances and the successes make me optimistic and the failures make me realistic. You too will have the opportunity to achieve this nirvana on Sunday.
Bolded made me chuckle. :)
Nirvana achieved
