Beanie Wells or Cedric Benson (1 Viewer)

Between Beanie Wells and Cedric Benson, who do you think will be more valuable in the fantasy playoffs? Both are currently on IR...Beanie is eligible to return Nov 25/Week 12 while Cedric can return Dec 9/Week 14. They are both available in my 12-team league and I'm thinking about stashing one away on last bench spot.

Potentially, here is the schedule each would face if they returned on the date they're first eligible (fantasy playoffs in bold):

Arizona: STL, @NYJ, @SEA, DET, CHI

Green Bay: DET, @CHI, TEN

Neither schedule is very attractive. Still, starting RB's are scarce and I would rather have someone on my bench than starting for another team in need.

Thoughts?

It would take massive cajones to start Benson the first week he is back so you are looking at 2nd and 3rd round of playoffs only. It could be worth it if you knew you were getting top 5 production, but he was average when he played and was healthy. Just don't see it being worth it. Plus it's a LisFranc which is a bad one.

Beanie is kind of in the same boat. His performance before injury was nothing special so why would he be so much more productive when he comes back. Maybe AZ figures out the offense by the time he gets back and he walks into a good situation, but I don't see it.

This is good feedback. I've been fortunate enough to build a very solid roster with depth, so my goal is to find someone worth storing deep on the bench that might payoff late in the season. Hopefully I'll find the right wild card to stash away.

I would go with Beanie. I think it's possible he heals up prior to that date and comes in to immediately take over the starting role. With Benson, although he may still start, it's possible he'll be in a timeshare, unless Green grossly underperforms. Similar to the the situation in STL with SJax and D. Richardson.
