Beanie Wells (1 Viewer)

Last game he had 20 carries, and now the local news has him slated for a big role going forward. this was inevitable, Beanie was drafted to be the future RB of the team, and that time looks to be upon us.

He has the size and speed to be a very good back, and with a rookie QB he will be needed to take pressure off of Hall by grinding out yards and first downs. His numbers weren't impressive at all against the Saints, but he did have 20 rushes in the victory, the coach stuck with him. He converted on a 4th and 1 on a scoring drive, which is about all he did that was worthwhile.

recently I traded Shonn Greene and Reggie Bush in a dynasty league to a Jets fan for Beanie and Hillis....

The guy was rb deep. I am hoping Beanie can save my season, but I haven't seen enough of him to know if he can.

What are the thoughts around here, going forward this year and into the future?

Not a great week to start him imo. Seattle has been surprisingly stout against the run. They will force Max Hall to beat him, which will be tough with the 12th man in Seattle in full force for a game that decides who takes the lead in the NFC west.

If you got him and you got guys on a bye hes a good start . Just might be a hard time for him. Seattle is like a wall against RB's. But you got to hope he breaks one or has a 20-42 game with 2 Goal Line TD's. I am starting him . My 2 starters both have Byes. But I got some hope he shows what a good RB he is and has a great game.

I traded Johnny Knox for him last week in my PPR, just to get another RB. I am starting him this week, but I'm not particularly thrilled about it...and I plan on benching him if Mcfadden doesn't play (I have Bush).

And it's in Seattle which is going to be brutal for Max Halls first road start ...Seattle is going to crush them

This guy seems like Laurence Maroney in disguise. Smoke and mirrors. I don't trust him yet.

Gotta diagree big time with the Maroney comparison.Look at Beanie's NFL higlights ... The guy is really good. Now if you don't trust the team that's understandable

You clearly haven't watched Wells much. The talent is legit and there is no "toe tapping" at the line of scrimmage. Very bad comparison. All that said, I don't own Wells. However, I owned him last year and watched his runs all year. It's there. For Maroney, it never really was.

Maroney is a perfect comparison....to Tim Hightower. All the way from ability to the dreads.I think Beanie may be the best buy low in fantasy football right now. If he were a RB1 from this point forward, I really wouldn't be surprised. If we're talking smoke and mirrors, I'd say it's Hightowers (5.2 ypc) to Beanie's (3.3). If you think Timmy will pull off another 80 yard TD again (like vs. ATL Wk2, then believe the #'s). Having watched Timmy over the last couple years, I just find it highly highly unlikely.

Whoa, I wouldn't go that far just yet.Fortunately/unfortunately Pierre Thomas hasn't worked out for me, so I really have no choice but to start him. With that said I'm still expecting good things.BTW, nice Opeth pic jafo.

Watch Beanie play and then tell me he doesnt have talent..

The guys the perfect buy low right now, grab him if you can

Traded Wells for DeSean Jackson. Jackson got lit up, so Wells is due to start his breakout season!
wow. I like that trade. I cant get Jackson even after the hit. no one wants wells. I think it was the 1ypc 2 weeks ago
Yes, I am amazed you got that trade. Wells has no value in my league. For the season he has been hurt, splitting carries and not producing when he does get the carries. I agree he has potential. But people aren't that willing to trade for potential when there has been so much evidence so far of him doing nothing. And to be fair, a big part of the problem is the team and that doesn't look to be changing to soon.

Beanie has talent, but if you're trying to trade him he's incredibly low in value. You are smart to ride it out only.

It's like a guy in my league trying to get Chris Johnson or Arian Foster from me for DeAngelo Williams and a pile of junk. I'm telling him that if he wanted me to consider the trade he'd have to really overpay and even then it probably won't work. DeAngelo is just too low right now. That said, DeAngelo could have a decent second half. He's just not going to give you much in a trade since he's an extreme buy low. Just like Beanie.

I'm not trying to compare his talent to Maroney. What I'm trying to say is you plug this guy in your lineup and he doesn't do anything. Which reminds me of Maroney. Strictly speaking fantasy football here. I just don't trust him enough to be consistent right now.

I think his performance today was pretty good against a tough Seattle d. Hoping it leads to more work in the earlier part of games.

I haven't been able to watch Arizona play every week, but in the limited chances I've been able to, it's obvious that Arizona's line and QBs are beyond awful, and it seems like Whiz has no imagination whatsoever.

I hate having this guy. Not good enough to make my startable roster and somebody I don't want to drop anytime soon ... basically a blank spot on my bench. :scared:

You don't have to toe tap to be like Maroney in other ways. I think Wells is like Maroney in that he will be a guy who was highly thought of who just won't have regular success in the NFL Will he blow it up some times? Sure he'll have his games. But I think the big things people were expecting from Wells just will not come to fruition.
