Bears to the Super Bowl (1 Viewer)

I just love hearing all these football-ignorants that dont realize how far a DOMINANT D can get ya
I think everybody realizes how far a great D will get you. The Bears are proof of that. It's having no offense that can bring that trip to an end. That isn't ignorance, that's common sense.

The Bear's offense is offensive!

It'll be amusing to pull this thread up in a little over a month...this team has one and done written all over it.  Terriffic defense, given, but one of these days the total lack of offense will come back to bite you hard.
:goodposting:
Really...Is this a lack of offense?

Strong defense + strong running + winning the takeaway/giveaway battle = Super Bowl caliber team!
No, the part where they come in 31st in passing and 24th in scoring is lack of offense

I'm with you when you talk about your D dominating people to get there but once you step over and try to say you don't have a weak offense, I can't back that. I can see the Bears getting to the SB but I really don't think the Bears homers should take offense to when someone says they have a lack of O because that is just a fact.

If the Bears had signed Warner when he was here during pre-season.. This team would be in the superbowl. Orton will not take them there and the running game is only good when you are winning or the score is close. If they get down in any game, Orton and the passing game will not bring them back.. I like what I see from them, but they are winning on D and thats not going to get them thru the playoffs. Farve throws a pick in the endzone today and then another one returned for a td... you take those two away and GB wins this football game.. Being a bear fan, im glad he threw the picks :P but also keeping the teams potential and hopes at a minimum.

Its funny how the Bears get no respect but just keep winning. Who cares if they don;t have any offense. Thats their gameplan. They run and run and run, then they let the Defense come in and score. Thats the Bears gameplan for winning (8 in a row by the way)Teams like the colts put up quick scores early to make their opponent one dimensional, thats their game plan. All this crap about what if Bears got down by two scores, they wouldn't be able to come back. This team will never be down by two scores in any game this year with that Defense.

:goodposting: You would think people would catch on eventually

Especially these idiots that say they will be "one and done" in the playoffs. What NFC powerhouse can go into Chicago and whip this team?

If they can get home field I can easily see them in the SB.Any road playoff games though, they will get smoked. Super Bowl, if they make it, they will get smoked.

Not even close to how much we Bear fans love reading thread after thread after thread about how overrated they are, and how they arent for real and they will get whipped in the playoffs

Actually, it appears that those type of threads really irk Bear fans. :lmao:

Agreed...it seems to get them frothing at the mouth, spouting irrational comparisons with Super Bowl champs of 30 years ago... :lmao:

What is really funny, is to see you posting gloom and doom about the Bears every week, and them still winning. :bag: I am a Bears homer, and I am concerned about the lack of accuracy by Orton, he has alot of positives going for him, but accuracy is not one of them. I wish the Bears management wasn't so screwed up and they had gotten us a verteran backup QB.

Please, show me one post where i've said gloom and doom about the Bears...if you consider me saying that the Bears will lose in the playoffs, yep, that's gloom. If you consider me saying the Bears ghave a horrible offense, yep, that's doom. Hardly the rantings of an anti Bear zealot. The Bears have a great defense, but that's not likley to be enough come playoff time...enjoy the ride now, the wheels will fall off in January.

Well considering that the "experts" had the wheels falling off in preseason, this year has been a monumental success to this point for the Bears. Even the cheeseheads had a sobering drive home after a LOSS at Soldiers Field, finally. Until they start rewarding style points in the NFL, I'll take the ugly wins. Maybe they get smoked in the playoffs, but make no mistake about it, DEFENSE wins championships.

The Bears in the super bowl.... LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!! Teams that only throw for 68 yards against the Packers are not going anywhere. It wouldn't surprise me if the Bears lose the next 3 outta 4 and the Vikes take the division.

There enough room aboard this train for one more? I'll be shocked if they win the Super Bowl but then again, I'm shocked they've made it this far. If they win a playoff game or two they'll still be underappreciated but that's just the way things are gonna be Bears fans. Get used to it and just laugh each step of the way. If you fall short, have no shame 'cause the team has had one Hell of a season already.

I could live with Brad Johnson... not Kurt Warner - he would struggle with the weapons in Chicago, as he's been spoiled over the years.

I am not sure Chicago can win at Seattle, but I also think I'd be tempted to take the Bears in Chicago against anyoen in 10 degree weather.Colin

If the Bears win out, will they have the tiebreaker over Seattle? They've only lost one conference game...

The Bears would have to win both games, with the Seahags dropping both games. One is @ Green Bay - the other against Indy.I don't see them losing at Green Bay.

You never know dude. The Titans played a very close game against the Seahawks right up until the end. Green Bay can still be dangerous, and I'm sure would love to play spoilers to both the Bears and Seahawks. It will be interesting to see if the Colts play their starters a whole game if they keep a lead against the Seahawks this weekend.

My thoughts exactly. That defense is ferocious and even moreso in nasty weather.

Alexander or no Alexander, the Bears will get throttled in Seattle if they make it there. And they won't, so it's moot. The Hawks d is licking it's collective chops at the thought of facing that horrid Bear offense--injuries or no injuries.

Ya know, I gotta give you credit for putting your neck on the line and saying da Bears to the Super Bowl, and here they are two wins away from it becoming a reality (and especially after a poor 2004 season). But then I realized you were a homer. Bold, but predictable... :P

Glad to hear that they're overconfident! :) The Bears have bigger cats to fry, and that would be the Panthers later today. After that game, I'll worry about the smack talk from the Seahag fans.

Unless they're getting some discounted tickets from Mike Tice, apparently the Bears will NOT be headed to the Super Bowl next month. :(The ride was fun while it lasted.... Grossman looked better than the other 'inexperienced playoff QBs' and this has been valuable experience for him and the whole team. That being said. This eff'n blows. Nice game Panthers.

The offense did more than it had all year to win this game, and it was against a very good defense. The Bear's D let them down. They just couldn't handle Steve Smith, not that it's anything to really be ashamed of. Not sure any team can.

It will be very interesting to see how next year goes for the Bears. My guess is that they will look very similar to the last time they made the playoffs and come down to earth hard the following year.Nice game Carolina.
