The Bears are going to score 27 on the Chargers in Sandiego? :goodposting:
That includes 2 defensive TDs, a run by Hester, and a 60 yard field goal by Mike Ditka.
Only a 60 yarder? Everybody knows Ditka has plenty of leg for 70 - come on.Back on topic, if the Bears can protect Rex, this will be a good game, because I'm not sold on the San Diego secondary yet. Florence and Jammer aren't that good in coverage (I think Cromartie is their best in that regard). McCree is a good safety, but Hart isn't anything special either. Weddle is a player, but he's still a rookie safety in his first NFL game. If the Bears can negate San Diego's pass rush the way that the Patriots did in the playoffs, then the Bears will have a good shot at a tough road win.BEAR DOWN CHICAGO BEARS!

Hart and Weddle both far outplayed McCree during this year's preseason, for whatever that's worth. Jammer, Florence, and Cromartie are all talented but far too inconsistent. You may be right that Cromartie is the best of that bunch, but he still gives up some big plays.I agree with you that protecting Rex will be the key to the Bears' offense. Easier said than done, of course.

Love the sig.

Regardless, I see that its a road game for the Bears. Do we know how many Bears couldn't make the trip because they're on lock down?
Yes it is a road game - the Bears were 7-1 on the road last year, which was tied for the best road record in the NFL - with (:gasp:) an AFC team. The Patriots to be specific - the Bears' only road loss, by 4 points. Oh and the cutesie question about how many Bears will be able to make it - all 53. The one player you are referring to is no longer with the Bears - he was replaced by Darwin Walker - who is actually better than Tank Johnson ever was or will be...oh, and he may be coming off the bench behind T. Harris and Dvorceck.

Do I gaurantee a Bears win? No. Do I think the Chragers are overlooking the Bears? Certainly not. Do I think most of this post has turned into a wasteland of insult and opinions baseless in fact? Most definately.
Yes, I noticed that the Bears were willing to part ways with Tank Johnson...after they found a replacement for him. As far as the insults...check to see how many times your cohort called people "clueless", "brainless" or "ignoramouses", etc. before people started returning fire. Bears threads inevitably end up like this because most people don't accept the premise that the Bears are the greatest of all time--which offends Bears fans to no end.
Tank Johnson is released June 25th - http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=3549Darwin Walker is signed July 31st - http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...earnt01.article

good one.
I don't care who is replacing Tank Johnson now, I just recall when he was released that the Bears fans were claiming that it didn't matter and that they wouldn't suffer a drop off with his replacement. I guess that was just wishful thinking by Bears fans.
What in gods name are you talking about? Darwin Walker won't be starting in place of Tank Johnson. He's not his replacement. There won't be a drop off as Tank Johnson is an average player. Not really sure what you are talking about in this thread. You are spouting off a lot of misinformation.

Just seen a post at another site saying Merrimen might be in deep trouble with HGH. Anybody confirm this?
No, but while I was filling up at a gas station I overheard a conversation where someone mentioned Rex Grossman may have a rare allergy to pig skin causing him to avoid contact with it when at all possible. Any doctors in this house? Does such an allergy really exist?

name the site!!!!
Meh.... what would that prove anwyay? If there's no link(he's coming here for confirmation) then it's just some guy with access to a keyboard making the accusation. That's a full step lower than ESPN in term of credibility.

Why don't you direct this at the guy who said Darwin Walker was Johnson's replacement???What misinformation?

FACT: When the Bears needed Tank Johnson for the Superbowl his legal issues didn't keep him off the field, in fact they got a waiver so that he could leave the state.

FACT: When they didn't need Tank Johnson anymore they were quick to cut him.

I like IND v. NO better, personally.
None of them can play defense....pass. I will take 2 teams that can play O and D.
Bears can play Offense? News to me.
lolI smell a GROSSman showing up SundayIf you have the SD Defensive, play them, twice if you can
How can you tell when the bad Rex is going to show up??? Nobody else can.
On the road against a superior conference(see Saints Thursday),a defense that will pressure him and hold Benson in check. Recipe for bad Rex.

Time to get this thread back on track and away from the pile of feces it's turned in to. ONE TIME!!!!

Bear down, Chicago Bears! Make every play clear the way to victory!

Bear down, Chicago Bears! Put up a fight with a might so fearlessly!

We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation with your T formation.

Bear down, Chicago Bears, and let them know why you're wearing the crown

You're the pride and joy of Illinois. Chicago Bears, bear down!

A friend of mine is a Bear fan and he told me that the last time they played in San Diego the Bears blocked a FG attempt that was returned for a TD by a big, fat lineman.

Anyone recall his name?

Looks like the talking heads on TV are doubting us just like last year. BRING IT ON!! We'll just keep on winning.

3 interesting stats I heard on the radio a few minutes ago.

1) Urlacher hasn't had a sack in the last 31 games

2) Norv Turner's record as a coach is 50-82

3) Tommie Harris only played 7 plays in the preseason

I hope the team was just being careful with Tommie in the preseason. We're gonna need him.

I also hope Babich gets Urlacher back involved in applying pressure to the qb like in the past.

Not one of the CBS idiots picked us to go to the Super Bowl. So so stupid
If they are the same people who give fantasy "advice", we are golden!

Maybe Tomlinson should start taking some reps in pre-season games if he is gonna look this rusty.

Impressive start for the two starting tailbacks.... one is averaging 2 yards; the other only a half yard.
