Belichick was mad after the game (1 Viewer)

BGP

Indians Fever
As a Browns fan of 20 years, I don't think I've seen him that mad since he was losing to the Steelers three times in one season, or when the Jaguars stole Kyle Brady out from under him in the first round, or when he had to answer questions about cutting Bernie Kosar.

I don't think anyone hates to lose as much as he does.

I watched his press conference after the Broncos game last year, and I listened to his presser after the Pats game this year. I think he sounded worse after last year's press conference, although it's close. I think he's a bit more used to losing this time around, but the Broncos one was really the first of his kind (his untarnished record with Brady).

He did have a very odd moment with Manning when they were showing the midfield handshakes. Did anyone else notice?
This got a lot of play in the game thread. Peyton certainly seemed very intent on getting to BB although he was initially blocked by a horde of photograpers (he didn't shove any though :banned: ). They showed him getting a AFC Champions hat on his way over and he took it off straight away - I would guess he thought it was impolite to wear it until after he had talked to Belichick. The gesture was however lost on BB.

I was a little disappointed with BB at that moment too. Especially since he had seemed so congratulatory to Dungy.I'll never say a bad thing about Peyton Manning again. Not just with jesture of taking the Championship hat off before approaching BB, but the post game comments, the press conference. He is truly a class act.

I hope it didn't take you this long to realize that...The arguement could always be made in the past about his post-season struggles (although it was a bunch of BS), but his level of class has always been extraordinary.

Jesus God you people are like a bunch of old ladies nattering about who said what to whom. :brush:

Other reports said that there were more proper words of congratulations given in the tunnel out of public view.

:brush: As for the Belichick moment with Peyton, I must have missed it since there seemed to be none. The coach pretty much seemed to blow right past Peyton.

Not a Pat or Belicheck fan but since when do coaches have to congradulate players?Meet Dungy at midfield, shake hands, head to the locker room and cry. BFD

Sure they don't have to, but when a player seeks out a coach, it's pretty bad sportsmanship to not reciprocate. As an aside, it's one of the key reasons that makes the Stanley Cup playoffs so great - the handshakes at the end of a series.

I guess I'm glad I didn't get to see the handshakes at midfield since I was at the game.

BB is just a sore loser. And that is okay.

Many of the Patriot player did go over to Dungy to congratulate him. I was proud of their demeanor after the game.

What an amazing experience.

As a Giant fan it was fun watching Eli's reaction in the box. I'm starting to think he's a robot in the mold of C3PO built by Peyton.

The shot of Bruschi and Manning was pretty cool. Clearly, BB's demeanor hasn't worn off on his always classy linebacker.

That's what I noticed. When BB and Manning finally got to each other, it was almost like BB brushed him off. He barely said a thing to him and kept walking. I guess everyone has their way of handling losing. You would think that after winning 3 Super Bowls, he'd be a LITTLE more gracious. Hell, he barely said a thing to Dungy!

He's a jerk, why expect anything more? Great coach with no class.

Norv Turner seems to be one of the nicest men on the planet, but I wouldn't want him (head) coaching my football team.

If a loss doesn't absolutely gut you, you're in the wrong business. And expecting people to absorb that kind of disappointment in 30 seconds and put on a facade is just silly.

Tom Brady managed to do it.Dungy did it multiple times. Belicheck is a great coach, but he's a jerk. Why even grant an interview after the game to a sideline reporter if you're gonna be an ###?

The one I'm curious about is Brady. Did he run off the field after the INT/end of game and not shake hands? I didn't see one shot of him other than his back as he jogged away.

For as much class as he has otherwise, Joe Gibbs is just about as bad after losses. His post-game press conferences look like they've occurred after someone took an axe to his entire family. His handshakes are nanoseconds long and he sometimes has just waved, as he famously did to Parcells the season before last.

I just think that some guys are so obsessed with winning that their ability to control their emotions minutes after a tough loss is practically nil. I don't know if that's an excuse or not, but I believe it to be the truth.

I suppose it is much easier to be a class act when you win.

:thumbup:Dungy and Manning have had plenty of losses in big games during which they've shown their class.

Truth... hurts?

I hope he suffers all off-season and retires. Bellidick is a but-hole and will always be my most hated coach after what he did to Bernie.

:goodposting: @ Browns fans' priorities. Bernie went on to have such a stellar career afterwards too. :goodposting:

I'm not saying no one can do it, just that to expect everyone to do it is unreasonable. But class act to me involves way more than the snippets of personality we see on TV or read about from some last-kid-picked for dodgeball reporter.FWIW, I don't have a clue what BB is really like and don't feel strongly about him or the Patriots either way.

:fishing: I think C3PO would throw less INTs though.
:lmao:"Peyton says that the chances of me NOT throwing an interception are 725....to one""I seem to be made to throw interceptions. It's my lot in life"
I still think of Eli as a bit of a crybaby, but it's not as bad as when he first got into the league a few years ago. As for Belichick's reaction, I can understand the desire to avoid too many questions about a tough loss, particularly when the opponent comes from behind to win. I guess the camera just caught ol' Sweatshirt in a bad spot.Go Colts!!

I get mad when I lose in Mario Kart...if I was a head coach, everyone would hate me since you little schoolgirls get so honked off about not being super-duper nice to everyone even after they just beat you. Hating to lose is a good quality when you're a coach/athlete. I'm sorry but everyone who cares about handshakes and good terms among people you don't know can just go ahead and forfeit their man cards immediately.

I saw the same thing. It's hard to tell for sure but it seemed like Brady bolted for the locker room at the end of the game.

BB should have been mad. His team blew a 21-3 lead because they couldn't run the ball and the defense got tired. It should have been simple - run the ball with Dillon & Maroney 25 times in the 2nd half and wear down the defense. Instead, Indy wore down the Pats with....uh.....the stellar D Rhodes. So yeah, if I were BB, I'd be a tad annoyed too.

Come on people. It is OBVIOUS:

After going in at half time and finding out what the Bears did to the Saints and how, BB didn't want his Patriots to be the recipients of ANOTHER Bears whooping in the SuperBowl, so he just threw the game, then pretended to be mad. He figured he'd let the Manning get the p!ss beat out of him by the Bears D in SB XLI instead of letting Pretty Boy Brady have to get hurt.

BB's bush league, that much is clear.

After Reggie Bush's taunting of Urlacher yesterday, shouldn't you captalize that? :lmao:

I don't like the tone of your voice.
Reminds me of that Geico commercial "I'm not sure I'm in love with your tone" :bowtie:
