I've yet to chime in on the subject, but I'll try to be brief. Dayne thrives in a system built for a feature RB to be successful. Wisconsin, year after year turns out top 10 college rushers because of the dominant system Alvarez built (big OL, zone blocking, off-tackle playcalls, getting the RB in a rythym, etc). This is VERY similar to the way Denver uses running backs and couldn't be further from how the giants use running backs. In NY, Dayne was trotted on the field for 3rd and 4th down short yardage situations, where he didn't perform very well. In the instances he carried the ball on 1st or 2nd down, it was always straight up the middle -- nothing else.
It is no coincidence or crazy string of luck that Dayne, last year in Denver, finally looked like the back he was at Wisconsin. Both offenses are built the same way.
My opinion is that Dayne will continue where he left off last year breaking off nice 10-20 yard runs in between a bunch of 2-6 yard runs (with the occasional long run). The Denver system couldn't be more perfect for him. He's got no excuses if he doesn't rush for 1000 yards and 9 tds this year.
