Ben Tate or Montario Hardesty? (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to ascertain which guy is a better stash in a dynasty league. Hardesty has a ton of talent, but his proclivity to get hurt, coupled with the emergence of Hillis, leaves us with various questions about his future--the only bright spot is that he was taken taken in the second round by Holmgren, so maybe he gets another shot in 2012 to carry the load? As for Tate, we all know that Foster is the guy, but does this kid come back from the leg injury 100% next year and challenge for at least short yardage carries? I would love to hear what other dynasty owners are thinking on these two guys.

I traded Hardesty in my other dynasty league a few days ago for Deji Karim and a 3rd. We have no IR or taxi squad and I got tired of seeing him waste a roster spot. He could come back and he definitely fits their downhill running style, but the injury history will make it tough.

Ben Tate could come back strong next year as well. They liked what he was doing when he wasn't dealing with hamstring and ACL issues. And Foster has struggled with injuries in the past so no guarantee that he is healthy and starting next year.

Sometimes guys just have bad luck with injuries in a year and then they are fine the next so they are both worth a look next year. I just wouldn't hold my breath.

Thanks for your post and I agree with your assessment. I'm wondering if one of them could turn out to be as productive as Mendenhall was his second and third year following his season ending injury.

foster would have to suffer injury, on the field production just nosedive, or get caught in police shootout before he's not the odds on starter for next year for Houston. tate will be his back-up, I think, going forward. it sucks because tate was getting some love from the coaching staff before he went down to injury. he just didn't get a chance to show his stuff.
