Ok, to be clear speaking in regards to this years value. As Dynasty value and opinion should lean toward Tate for youth alone, even though Jennings is a FA next year.

Tate and Jennings both average over 5 YPC (Tate in 2011, Jennings in 2010)

Where as Tate was a must have handcuff last year due to Foster's injury.

Jennings is now a must have handcuff this year due to MJD's early speculation of a holdout.

ADP suggest Tate is more favorable today, but as the MJD story develops will Jennings become more valuable?

Jennings may be older, but he still has fresh legs. Has less career carries than Tate. He is also a more trusted receiver.

In many League formats, Arian Foster is considered the best RB in Fantasy Football. I'd argue that, in those formats, Ben Tate is the second best RB in Fantasy Football.

The situation in Houston is eerily similar the Holmes/Johnson backfield in KC, and the outcome, if Foster were to go down, would have a chance to closely resemble the 2005 Chiefs, IMHO.

NOT saying Ben Tate is a more talented RB than Rice, McCoy or at least a dozen others. Rather, he's 'system good' enough to match, and IMHO, potentially exceed, Foster's production in Houston's offensive scheme.

If I was playing in one of those formats, and drafted Foster, (which means I likely drafted 1.01), I'd HAVE to have Tate, and I'd start getting nervous at the 4.12/5.01 turn, and I'd absolutely take Tate at 7.01, because if you have savvy League-mates, no one's letting you have him at 8.12/9.01...

Jennings is a nice enough player and all, but he's coming off a knee, and folks are drafting MJD with the thought in mind that he's talented enough to get his, despite the moribund situation he finds himself in in Jacksonville. In his prime, I have no doubt he could generate a respectable performance. IMHO, Jacksonville is a mess, and while Jennings has undeniable talent he isn't anywhere near MJD in his prime (I see Jennings as a guy who, at full strength could be borderline RB1 productive in a well balanced offense) so I'm not predicting any more than an average performance at best in his situation, unless that mess somehow sorts itself out...just my .02...

Jennings didn't even have surgery, so it wasn't a major injury. In a re-draft, I would do whatever it takes to get Tate, definitely. He many not get the same receptions as foster, but the rushing production alone is worth it.As far is Jennings' talent is concerned, he's essentially an Arian Foster clone, except more powerful and more explosive. I think many people didn't feel Foster could be a RB1 until he showed it.

It depends what you are looking for.

I am very high on Jennings for the reason he has lots of tread on his tires, as well as the opposite w/ MJD.

He did very well in limited duty in previous 2 years.

Ben Tate is a solid runner, but he wont ever show it until Foster gets hurt or one of them leaves.

I dont see that happening anytime soon.

I would lean on Jennings - I like his potential.

Each of these two are valuable in their own way. IMO tate is a "must" handcuff for the Foster owner. If Foster goes down, he immediately vaults

into an every week must start. Even if Foster doesnt go down, he holds flex value in leagues that start 10 or more a week. Jennings.....well lets just say MJD has a lot of wear on those tires. He has had multiple surgeries. Who knows how much longer he lasts. His holdout isn't making things any easier. Even though Jennings was injured last year, he didnt need to go on IR. That was a coaching decision (impatience IMO). Given the opportunity, I think he could do very well, even in JAX.

The edge has to go to Tate, simply because its a more prolific offense, and because, assuming no inj's to either Foster or MJD, Tate will have better #'s due to more touches. But the difference between the two is not that large. Either way, I would be glad to roster each of them.
