Hell yea.

needed 9 out of him tonight.

Two end zone targets so far at the half. The first was way behind him, but the second was on the money. Finally all the BW kool aid is starting to pay off..

77 yards and a TD in the first half = houshmanzmama ****championship****

F Bristol.

He is looking beastly, but I wouldn't expect much consistency out of him since it is so hard to judge Belicheck's gameplans week in and week out.

I started him over Doug Gabriel in the flex spot so I'm really happy!!!! Shockey is my starter so he's been a good #2 TE all year.

Oh, yea.. I needed him to save my butt in the subscriber contest, I think he'll pull me through... :D
I'm sure it will help a little, but... he's so widely owned in the contest his tide rises all boats, so to speak. You won't be passing many people since many of those you are hoping to pass also own him.

I also have Gostowski (25.1% owned on surviving rosters), so I think his 5 so far will help set me apart. I was at 98.3 before tonight, so I figure Gostowski gets me above the cut and Watson helps keep me there...But I'll be running to the PC first thing!

Not to be a jerk... because I started him in one of my leagues and probably won because of it tonight... but if you're going to quote a cliche and old joke, at least don't #### it up. It's "TJ Houshyourmama".Anytime.

Ugh...he cost me the weekly high score prize.....third time this year I've lost it late in the monday night game :(

Or Brady's pass distribution.Even so, Watson's been consistently targeted. Except for the Cincie game where he had only 3 targets, Watson's had 7, 6, 11, 7, and 7 targets. He just had 7 catches on 14 targets. And, he had 5 or 6 red zone targets - his first red zone targets all year.With tonight's 14 targets, he is now the most heavily targeted TE in the league (tied with Gates). That is encouraging.

you drafted him to wait until week 8 for him to score?
Of course not, but he was the #15 TE before this game, and he now has the 10th most fantasy points for TEs.His numbers tonight are encouraging. However, he has to develop some consistency and improve on his 50% catch percentage if he is to start living up to his ADP. And he has to become a red zone threat if he is to become the value pick many of us thought he'd be.Before this past week's games, Minnesota gave up the second fewest fantasy points to TEs - 1.8. I'm happy right now since he helped me pull out a come from behind victory in my big money league, and I hope I can start counting on him down the stretch. I'm really not asking for much - just a dependable 40-50 yards with an occasional TD. That's quite a bit less than I wanted when I drafted him (I figured I had a top-5 TE with top-3 potential).

He's already a red zone threat. He's *this close* to having 3 or 4 TDs this year. I have been one of the biggest Watson backers for a while now, and I still firmly believe Watson is going to settle into the top 5 TEs a for a LONG time. No TE is a better run after catch threat than Watson (did you see those jets last night? Barely missed getting a 90 yard TD), and his hands and technique are coming around. Brady clearly trusts him and looks for him a lot (overlooked a wide open Caldwell in the end zone to try to find a covered Watson). Also, our prophecies of Watson being the #1 target in the passing game have come true - Watson has 54 targets this year, the next highest receiver has 38. He had 13 targets last night, the next highest receiver had 7.

Watson is getting plenty of looks and opportunity.

as a fantasy owner, all you can do it try to draft talented players that will see touches/opportunity.

To this point, it's just been unlucky (fantasy wise) with Watson... the "*this close*" argument made in an above post is spot on...

again, I like the poker analogy... you go in with a pair of Kings... even though you might get unlucky and lose... you keep going in with those Kings because eventually they'll pay.

Watson scored 22 points, and the cutoff moved 20 points. I think there's a correlation there...

I drop Watson this week, :cry: But the good new is I picked up Clark :shock: :lmao: . I think I going to keep Clark becuse you NE is not going thorw the ball 50 times every game.

I don't think there's a single player in the NFL who can combine such amazing athletic skill and such awful hands. It's a unique combination.

:goodposting: Fantasy scoring depends so much on opportunity. And right now Watson is getting a lot of opportunities.

Watson is getting the looks, the catches, the yards, but no TD's. He is 5th in rec. yards and receptions, and tied for 6th for TD's. In non PPR scoring, he is in 9th place with 45 points. So he is the highest fantasy scoring TE with the least amount of TD's.

Remaining schedule is:

Jets

@GB

Chi

Det

@Mia

Hous

@Jax

@Ten

This is pretty split between tough and weak defenses...which in my book means you start him every week unless you have someone better.

Give him 2-3 more TD's and he would crack top 5. He is 6th for TE red zone targets and leads the Patriots overall in red zone with 9 targets out of a team total of 53. So all indication are that if they can simply convert on some of the red zone targets, (which he should) drafters who took Watson late in the draft as a potential top 5 TE will be rewarded.
