So, I always like Berrian. He was a BIG play guy that was huge in my league. Long TD's are an extra 3 points, so his value is high if he has someone throwing to him.

Whats the general feeling about him now? Will he improve and return to last seasons big numbers?

He is currently the 16th WR when it comes to targets.

Thanks for the input.

Brian Griese isn't exactly known for his downfield passing. Personally I think Berrian will continue to see a lot less deep balls (which is what he excelled at last season) but he should continue to put up 5-6 catches a week because he's the only legitimate offensive threat on Chicago's offense right now

guess I missed it where Lovie said he was switching to Griese
:shrug:Let's speculate, then. What if Lovie names Griese the starter? How will that affect Berrian?
haha... thanks. Yes, I guess thats the crux of the debate. Will Berrian be better off? He is a great talent and Rex hasn't gotten him the ball. But, as mentioned above, will Greise not go deep as often? Bears homers might have input, I hope.

I think a better speculation would be Warner in AZ. Berrian is going to have about the same #s even with Griese. I do think CHI should atleast throw one long pass per half to Berrian though. I have not seen them go deep to him yet but maybe defenses are not going to give them that play with their schemes.

I don't care who throws him the ball. That forder couldn't consistently catch a pass with all of Lester Hayes stick 'um on his hands.

 While Rex has been bad, Berrian's play has certainly contributed to some of the Bears' offensive problems. He's had drops in every game and quit on a route that resulted in a pick against San Diego. I think Griese's lack of arm strength would hurt Berrian's potential performance.

Griese doesn't have the deep ball that Rex has and Berrian will prove as adept at dropping passes from both QBs. Griese doesn't affect BB in any positive way, IMO.
Well, I guess I see both sides of the argument... But, in a dynasty league now might be the time to buy low on Berrian. In my opinion if you have a large bench and you are in a dynasty league - I would go after him now, while he is low. What type player is Berrian in a dynasty league?average talent nothing special [ 4 ] [13.79%] could be good but not with any of the Bear's QB's [ 7 ] [24.14%] special talent go get him now [ 18 ] [62.07%]

I do not think he improves much if at all with Griese. The benficiary (other than the Bears fans) has to be Benson not seeing so many in the box.

if Griese is QB, Berrian might see a small increase in receptions, yards stay the same, TDs might go up 1-3. But BB needs to catch the ball regardless of who the QB is. He could be a 1200 yard 10TD guy if he caught more and had a slightly better QB. I'd run deep posts all day with him, hope he catches 2+.

Well, he might see less deep balls with Grossman out, but he might see more balls with Griese in. I think the Bears might have 20% more offensive plays in a game with Griese in there.

So, maybe a bump in PPR, but a drop in leagues with bonuses for long plays?

Eh, he's their best receiver, I don't think switching QBs changes that.
