For the fun of it, I made a private MFL 10 to see if we can fill one with just people that frequent this thread. If it doesn't fill, you can always withdraw from it.

Here is the direct link. The password is "footballguys1". Hope it fills!

My suggestion would be to make your team name your footballguys handle, as it'd be fun to be able to link the team to the poster.
I'm interested in joining this, but the link did not work for me.
I think you can just go to the MFL 10 Public Dashboard and find the league by using the password here: http://football20.myfantasyleague.com/2015/public#0
Could not search using the password. Do you know the league name?

It doesn't have a name until it fills. The only way is with either the direct link or the password. To do the password search you use the last link I gave you and then on the right column of the screen, there are four subheadings "WELCOME TO THE MFL 10S DASHBOARD", "DRAFT ONLY LEAGUES FILLING NOW", "ROSTER MANAGEMENT LEAGUES FILLING NOW", and "YOUR PRIVATE LEAGUES"... under this last one you'll see a link that says "Join A Private League That You've Been Given A Password For". If you click on that you should be able to get into it. I think you can even just click on the link in this post too.

You guys mind if I get in? I'm, admittedly, a lurker in this thread. But I'll be happy to participate more when my grade depends on it.

finnished up, this one this morning, went TE and QB early to see how it all came together, not upset with it, not crazy either, it has a chance, needs some lower guys to step up, did allow me to get excellent depth at rb/wr 6/7 players each and tripple tap the defense, even though i later regretted going so early on SEA.

Ok thanks. I'm in. Probably not the greatest odds getting in a league with all you experienced owners, but what the hell? It's only $10. And this should be much more satisfying than a hand of blackjack.

What's the ADP on Rodgers? 3.05 seems like a very good deal. Overall I don't like this roster at all - no RBs in the first three rounds just doesn't work for me. I do like all three of those picks, just not in the same draft.

It shouldn't be hard to fill another one. In fact, we may end up with a bunch of these.
I'm counting on it. My teams are starting to look better and better. Current one so far. From the 10 spot:

Stafford, Matthew DET QB

Forte, Matt CHI RB

Gordon, Melvin SDC RB

Vereen, Shane NYG RB

Yeldon, T.J. JAC RB

Bryant, Dez DAL WR

Bryant, Martavis PIT WR

Colston, Marques NOS WR

Johnson, Charles MIN WR

Eifert, Tyler CIN TE

Olsen, Greg CAR TE

I waited too long on QB. I knew there was going to be a QB run between my 10th and 12th pick but I didn't think it was going to be that bad.

The ADp on Rogers was 3.04, but all the RB's i like arond there where taken so i strengthen QB so i could take more shots at rb/wr but yes i went upside down grabbing steward and Randle in the 4/5th rounds.

I'd do another, though probably not too many as I prefer to draft with fewer sharks... If you've been posting or even lurking in this thread over the summer you're probably much more informed that the random MFL10er

Maybe after this one gets a few rounds in we can roll out another. And maybe Borden should set it up, so he doesn't miss the boat.

I'm in the middle of one now that I was really feeling good about, until my draft clock timed out at 10.10 and I got stuck with Julius Thomas. So annoying! My fault for not pre-drafting. Still, it's a promising roster:

Tom Brady

Matthew Stafford

Jamaal Charles

Justin Forsett

LeGarrette Blount

Mike Evans

Brandon Marshall

Roddy White

Mike Wallace

Stevie Johnson

Antonio Gates

Julius Thomas (!!!)

Interested to see how Tennessee Studs fills out after going 1,02 ADP,2,11 Forsett,

3,02 Luck & 4.11 Kelce. Could end up as a real nice squad with some of the WR value dropping.

I don't like the reach of E.Sanders in the 3rd with Graham, Hilton, Cooks Spiller & Benjamin there

Seriously....reach? WR5 in total points last year is a reach as the 13th WR taken? LOL especially at Spiller and Benjamin.

Sanders should be able to duplicate last year pretty easily.

You may be right but I'd be shocked if he scored 295 points this year. He himself has already said that his usage this year will drop.

You know what would be really fun? Let's all really put our money where our mouths are and do a MFL 25 with roster management!

Different strategy for sure.

I'm in one right now where someone took Randle at 2.12. I highly doubt that would happen with this group ;-)

I think bragging rights and $100 for the winner is good enough. If it's just for the money aspect then it worth going up against people that you KNOW are researching and discussing this exact variation of fantasy football.

The most appealing part of MFLwhatevers is that I don't have to do anything after the draft. I'm at my max for leagues/teams that I have to manage during the season.

Don't mean to be a downer but I do want to be honest with you.

Another option might be to setup a few leagues/drafts and next year have the top people from each league play in a champions league. Who knows maybe get a league of two of these experts and then next year they'll represent all the experts against us Joe's. Or maybe not but it's an idea.

Fair points Borden. Me personally, I use about ten best ball drafts as a prep for the management leagues. It's like a mock with a little skin in the game. But I imagine some people actually now prefer these to regular leagues in the same way daily leagues are blowing up. MFL gotta be making a killing with these to the point they are now no longer offering $10 management leagues. Best ball is now their bread and butter.

It's a perfect marriage for MFL because you need them for most dynasty leagues and a $10 draft only league will almost scratch that redraft inch. Eventually I would like to see them do MFL10s with a live draft (60-90 second timer) but, as has already been discussed, it's probably not worth the hassle.

If you think about it though, if MFL doesn't get these live drafts someone like DraftKings or Fanduel might pick it up. It makes sense for these two because they have the money to do it and it would be a great way to get people in before the season starts.

My thought exactly. I'm maxed out on leagues I have to manage with around 8. Can't deal with any more lineup and WW processes. But I love drafting, so these give me my fix.

Whoever he is, someone should tell him he'll need to draft more depth at WR ASAP, especially since his top two are on the same team. And QB could be trouble for him. Taking Bree's so early may have been ill advised.
The guy seems pretty bright, I'm sure he has a plan.

Looking at my last pick and I'm not sure if I should grab a 3rd DEF, QB or TE or grab a 9th receiver.

Looking at Greg Jennings, Jace Amaro/Jared Cook, Nick Foles/Alex Smith, Bears/Redskins/Raiders/Titans. EDIT: JENNINGS WAS TAKEN A PICK OR SO IN FRONT OF ME.

The only defense left that doesn't share a bye week with those I already have is the Titans. Jennings would be the only week 5 bye on the team as well.

I'm pretty sure I should take a 3rd defense here just due to the weekly variability even from good teams, but it's hard with that crapheap left. I think i'll be fine on the TE front so if I don't go defense I'm heavily leaning Jennings at the moment, but it would be nice to have Alex Smith be my floor when Bradford inevitably gets a hangnail. Any input or feedback on the current roster so far would be welcome I felt like I did a good job waiting on the receiving talent.

Studies (rotoviz I think ...show that statistically you should go with 3 Defs
This is one of those things I dispute, because I think it matters what time of year you are talking about. There are times of the year when I would take 3 defenses, there are times of the year I would take one defense.

PLUS, it depends on what defenses you are talking about. I've seen people that end up with SEA and BUF for instance. Leaving aside whether this is a good strategy or not.... if those were my defenses I would never draft a third defense because I am "supposed to". Similarly, if all my late player favorites were gone at the end of the draft I would have no problem using my last four picks on defense.

If someone does start another private league I was curious if anyone would be interested in a private $10 slow auction-and-go? Not sure how to set one up myself but in another league I was participating in they set it up and I was too late to join.

If I were in an MFL10 before the NFL draft I would have no problem taking 1 defense. There were TONS of good plays after the 15th round back then.

I'm more surprised on just how few people actually took 3.

I'm assuming Post May the share and win rate of 3-DEF teams rises considerably?

Plenty of people do that. It's just not very successful.

Interesting.

I'm a little surprised they are all within 1% of each other.

1 defense just because there was so much value? I'm not quite sure of the logic for this. If you have 19 players of presumed excessive value/production then why knee cap your self by guaranteeing a zero in at least one week. Plus D's usually aren't the same year after year.

I really like this start to my draft right now

Peyton Manning QB 8.05

Frank Gore RB 4.05

Jeremy Hill RB 2.05

Marshawn Lynch RB 1.08

Lamar Miller RB 3.08

Larry Fitzgerald WR 9.08

Jeremy Maclin WR 6.05

Allen Robinson WR 5.08

Roddy White WR 7.08

9 TOTAL PLAYERS

Nice job Cacks. If I knew I was getting Gore at 4.5, I may have gone WR at 3.8, but it's hard to say without knowing who was there. In general, I think your roster is a nice example of just how easy it is to be good at WR even if you go RB early.

I think people over inflate how much of a disadvantage 1 position getting a zero for 1/16th of the cumulitive season. If it were a traditional league where making the playoffs is determined by your first 11 games I would buy the argument a little more. I think the stats he provided, having three defenses hurts you more than having one defense in early drafts kind of supports what I am saying.
