Has anyone participated in a best-ball survivor league? It's odd that the FBG contest is uber-popular but it's next to impossible to actually fill a survivor league around here.
I like the safety of the rotisserie/50-50 leagues but the survivor leagues are also an interesting challenge. If anyone is interested in trying one for $10 please message me as we have several spots open.

If you guys like the ffpc 28-man satellite, FBG has been offering 1 half off entry each season ($17.50). I always struggle to find the link. So either this year is no different, or they did away with the deal. I think the ffpc rake is way too high, so i don't do it, save for the one 1/2 price entry. But i have no complaints about the website/draftroom/format. I actually like drafting Ks and extra Defs.

Just did a few drafts on draft.com. My thoughts...
1) I like the "fast drafts", but a 30 second clock is a bit aggressive given the wonky layout and difficulty of seeing a draft summary...takes some strategy away
2) FFPC software is much better IMHO, particularly the popup roster grid is very helpful
3) The draft.com fast drafts were a lot "softer" than the slow drafts on myffpc.com, granted the dollar levels are pretty low, but still a lot of terrible picks...Sharks could easily turn a profit on the low dollar drafts.

so figured this out...the pay functionality is actually supposed to work on smartphones/tablets, aka touch screens...I couldn't get it to work on my laptop but was real easy on my tablet.

Did you draft on your tablet? I do everything from my phone but haven’t seen anything like a big board/roster grid. Did you end up finding one?

For any one that has played in Draft, sometimes there’s a little shield beside some of the drafters avatar. It started to bother me that I didn’t know what it was so I looked it up. And here is the answer...
”Experienced: Players with a black shield over their avatar have entered 500 total drafts OR have played 6+ drafts AND Won $2500 or more.
Highly Experience: Players with a red shield over their avatar have entered 1000 drafts OR won 4+ $1000+ prize drafts.”

Couldn't find anyone with similar problems so here it goes. I had a League Safe account but with a different email address. When I logged into fanball with my MFL login my money is there but when you try and enter a league or withdraw it asks you to verify your id. At this point it says I already have an account and to login with that one. Which is fantastic, except that I can't get my money out of the MFL account. I messaged support and after sending me a form letter without any info they are forwarding it to a supervisor. I can't be the only one with this problem? Anyone get them to fix it?

What were the browns taken, and what order, in rounds 2-7?
For some reason earlier in the year(but after the NFL draft) it seemed like all three CLE RB's were going way too early, but that was awhile ago.

Has anyone ever wanted to try a best-ball survivor or idp draft? Trying to fill one of each.
My favorite best-ball league last season was an IDP, but I didn't finish first place(Rodgers injury dropped me to 2nd).

Gordon round 2. Took a break to grab JuJu round 3. Then went Landry, Hyde, Duke, Tyrod, Chubb rounds 4-8. Grabbed Ben round 9. Then went Njoku, Corey Coleman, Mayfield, Callaway 10-13.

That is crazy early for Duke and Tyrod both. I can almost understand people that are CONVINCED it's Hyde's job and drafting him early, or CONVINCED that it's Chubb's job and drafting him early.... but it makes absolutely no sense to draft all three CLE RB's in the first 8 rounds imo. I kind of assumed there was a TE run and Njoku went off the board in the 7th or 8th because I've seen that happen and he may have that type of upside.

What is the ADP for QBs in MFL10s?
I'm in the middle of my first MFL10 for the year and the QBs are just not coming off the board at all. I had the 2nd pick (took Gurley), then 3 straight WR, then took A. Rodgers at 5.2 because i assumed he would be gone (along with some of the other top QBs before I picked again at 6.11) - NOPE. The only QB taken so far is Rodgers and we are now sitting at pick 6.12. I know people generally wait for QBs in this format but I thought at least the top few would go before the 7th round. Is this the norm?
BTW, I'm only doing 2 MFL10s this year because I have 2 tickets left over from last year. Since I'm only doing 2 entries didn't feel like bothering BroadwayG to set me up for this year on his site.

I've been in 6 MFL10's. Rodgers goes about where you took him. Two Qb's in the 7th, usually a variation of R Wilson,
T Brady, D Watson, and C Wentz Then 4 or 5 in the 8th/9th. Some drafts this will vary by a round.

Sadly, Broadway G is not doing his site this year. That's probably the reason I'm not enjoying my mfl10s as much this year. Like you, just spending through credits.
So I just read an article by Rotoexperts guy Jake Ciely. The past 3 years, Blake Bortles has been QB4, QB9, and QB13 the past three years.
The Jaguars, according to some websites, have the EASIEST schedule. Yes, easier than even the Texans.
They actually have weapons all over - Lee, Moncrief, Westbrook, Chark, Cole, ASJ, Fournette/Yeldon/Grant out of the backfield.
While I'm not exactly targeting Bortles, if I miss out on Smith or Trubisky as my QB2, Bortles is not that bad of a consolation prize.

I’ve been adding Bortles a lot also but those guys you listed as weapons are just guys they’re nothing special as a group. Not in the top half of the league in terms of weapons to play with.
I’ve added Hurst, Butt, Everett at the end of drafts. Seals-Jones is a guy I’ve grabbed a couple rounds earlier although I’m not sure he qualifies as a sleeper anymore. He’s been going round 14-early 15 recently I feel I’m Draft.

I think the bolded part actually works against Bortles a bit, because they won't put the game in his hands if they don't have to. I actually think it helps Fournette more than Bortles. BUT I also don't put a ton of weight into strength of schedule.... it's more of a tie breaker for me. Depending on the format it's either slightly more/less of a tie breaker than bye weeks. In best-ball obviously less(at least to me).
I do agree with you though that those weapons are pretty good. Certainly much better than the passing weapons Bortles had last year by my estimation. There is an argument that Bortles doesn't have a single GREAT weapon to throw to, but when I draft Bortles I'm drafting him for his season production floor so I don't mind the fact that he's surrounded by a deep group of solid receivers as that insulates him to injury to that one stud target. To me, he's a 2nd/3rd QB on the roster that's being drafted at his floor and one of the few that can be counted upon to have a handful of games that will be sure to matter. Last season for instance he had 7 games where he either had 300yards and/or multiple TD's. That's what I'm looking for in a best-ball backup. The downside of course is that if the JAX script goes as we expect(dominating defense, improved OL to run the ball, Fournette healthy) JAX could drop from the 600+ pass attempt team they were in '15/'16, and even from the 525 pass attempts they had last season, to the pack at the very bottom of the league that struggle to even get 500 pass attempts. That's where the "easy SOS" potentially hurts him.
Part of his value to me depends on who you drafted as your starter. If I took Luck as your #1, then I'd feel much more comfortable with Carr/Manning/Dalton/Keenum as a #2. If I took Brees as my #1 I'd feel more freedom to gamble with the occasional upside of Bortles. Bortles is likely to have occasional clunkers where he barely has to pass for more than 100 yards for JAX to win.
When you are talking about "deep" TE sleepers are you talking 15-25? Or are you talking about some of the leagues we do in this thread that are more like TE's ranked #35+? Assuming you meant the latter, in best-ball I like all four of the LA TE's because they have upside on any given week: Everett/Higbee/Gates/Green. You also have the added benefit that if one of those guys either emerges or gets thrust into the job due to injuries his value will just sky-rocket. Their value are all being held artificially low imo because of the other one and it's assumed to be a time-share but if you play in a true DEEP league(translation: playing in a good league where you want luck to mean less) then taking both as a handcuff in those late, late rounds isn't a bad move at all. I also don't mind throwing a dart at a Cowboy/Jets TE near the very end of the draft as SOMEONE is going to be a great, great value out of those groups but it's a guessing game as to who it will actually be. At that point in the draft I'm just looking for anybody that may drastically out-perform their draft position.

Winston, I think he makes the jump this year that he was supposed to have last year. Even if he doesn’t he put up solid numbers the last half of the year and the suspension has put him way down the adp.
Eli-You can get him incredibly late and he throws to Beckham, Engram, Shephard and Barkley. He has to put up decent numbers

i don’t know if there are any huge bargains imo. You have to take them early and often. I ended up with Martin on a lot of teams because you can get him really late. If Lynch goes down, he could be really good value. Gio is a decent sleeper in case Mixon struggles again. I also like Royce Freeman as the Booker hype has pushed him down. There wasn’t a ton of other guys I ended up with on numerous teams. More certain players I avoided at rb.

Shepard-he’s put up pretty good numbers his first two years but you can get him late. There’s competition for targets but as late as he’s going I think he’s a steal.
Parker-I’ll admit he’s been awful but it’s now or never and there’s not much competition. Plus he’s burned so many people you can get him pretty late.
Martavis-on almost all my teams. Available at wr6 prices and he’s got some upside in a Raiders team that really only has Cooper and not a lot else.
Gordon-not a fan in dynasty but I believe he can keep it together for one year and be a wr1.
Fuller-he screams value in best ball leagues to me.

I found myself with Gronkowski on a few teams and on the others scraping the barrel. Hooper went really late so I took him a few times. Even 600 yards at his adp should be a win.

I think you have to pounce on TEs you believe in, even if its a bit early. For me this is, depending on how the draft goes down:
Gronk in mid to late 2nd, early 3rd
Engram-Graham-Walker-Rudolph-Olsen in rounds 5-7, that is my personal ranking FWIW
Burton-Reed in rounds 8-9
Howard-Njoku-Ebron-Clay-Brate in rounds 10-14, Eifiert in this group if you think he will play
RSJ-ASJ-McDonald-Cook-Butt-Hooper in rounds 15+
Most teams I am ending up with 3 TE, for example one of my latest MFLs from #11 spot:
QB: Big Ben (9), Mahomes (11)
RB: Cook (2), Michel (4), Thompson (7), Montgomery (10), Carson (14), Dixon (17)
WR: Beckham (1), Robinson (3), Corey Davis (6), Parker (8), Golladay (12), Moncrief (16), Coutee (20)
TE: Olsen (4), McDonald (13), RSJ (15)
D: Denver (18), KC (19)
Maybe do some reading on tight ends this year, some guys I like in particular are: Rudolph, Burton, Howard, Ebron, Clay, RSJ, Butt

I feel like there is some desperation finding the "sleeper" TE this year and haven't drafted Burton/RSJ in a single league. The hype on these two is strong. If Burton has a single play that makes all the highlight reels in the preseason I think there is a chance he climbs above Ertz.
Where are you drafting McDonald this year? I think he and Butt both have value as true sleepers.

I took Gronkowski, Engram and Reed a few times each. I'm not a fan of almost all of the others at their ADP. There will probably be some breakouts but I don't want to bet on someone like Butt.
Thing is with Butt, you can get him really late right now and he might be the #3 option for Keenum, so it isn't a lot of draft capital you'd be spending. Could be a high floor low ceiling guy, Heath Miller type. He's a solid tight end but his draft stock took a fall with his ACL.

I see a few potential break outs: Ricky Seals-Jones, Vance McDonald, Eric Ebron, and especially Gerald Everett (somehow, often available in the last round). Pairing them with some safer options like Austin Hooper, Ed Dickson, Luke Wilson, Ben Watson, or Charles Clay makes it easy to take your 1st TE after your 5th WR and RB.voiceofunreason said:

I'd include ASJ and McDonald in the earlier group. In all my MFL10s they have been going 11th to 13th. And for me I like Kittle anywhere between Burton and the 11th or so. I've seen him go in the late 8th but hasn't got past the 11th.pbandy1 said:

Here’s my draft list. It’s mostly my rankings but there’s lots of clusters. This just helps me keep track during the draft. It doesn’t mean I will take these players ahead of the players ranked lower. Also, you’ll see there’s lots of guys I’m too high on or too low on but anyone that is in the general area isn’t worth discussing. For example; I have Hunt ahead of Barkley but I do enough of these (over 60 now) so I have picked Barkley ahead of Hunt because they’re close and I don’t want to end up with the same team over and over again. But I’m very open to moving players around. Anyways...

General question
I've been a commissioner of a 20 year redraft league league and i've wanted to try Best Ball for some time now.
But i want to play and include my leaguemates too as it's always more fun to compete vs people you know.
Are there any free hosting sites that i can do this with my league?

been trying out some of Draft's best ball championship, wanted to share this team. Went for a combination of upside/injury risk/history of production, and also some red-zone upside.
QB: Stafford, Winston, Bortles
RB: Fournette, Guice, Lewis, Chubb, Dixon
WR: Michael Thomas, Josh Gordon, Watkins, Woods, Mike Williams, Moncrief, Enunwa, John Brown
TE: Rudolph, Reed
Favorite picks were probably Reed which was I think in the 9th, and Bortles who can be a top 5 QB in rushing yards. Like the TD potential with Williams/Moncrief

For discussion, not critiquing...
Did you draft different because of the way the contest works vs a normal BB league? Is there a reason you went 3/5/8/2? Was there any picks that you feel you made a mistake with? Either taking too early or too late and missed.

yes a little bit. I went higher upside, tried to stack (Bortles + Moncrief), and took some more injury risk. When Reed fell I saw no reason to get a third TE, if he pans out there shouldn't be a need. As for RBs, there wasn't really any RBs I wanted so just thought I'd go for more WRs who are higher variance in scoring. And I kind of like Bortles this season at his ADP.Borden said:
Mistakes, perhaps I could have gotten another QB earlier than Winston. I like Kerryon Johnson as well but he seems to be going too early for me in Draft, in MFL his value seems appropriate.

Since we're on the DRAFT $100k contest topic, I'll post mine from a couple days ago. I've done so many bestball drafts this year that I tried to just stay flexible, something close to BPA strategy. I don't know what to think about my team. I liked it better a couple days ago. I'll say that some of "my guys" I'm targeting, whether they made it onto this particular team or not, are probably not guys most people are into the way I am. I feel that way about Tyrod Taylor and the Browns (or at least I did when I drafted), DeVante Parker, Corey Davis and ASJ. I'm super thin at RB but I think it's a strong combo. Chubb could have a huge late season run. I reached for Wilson probably, but in this format he could be a league winner. I actually doubt Lamar Jackson is fantasy relevant this year, but in this format I want someone that *could* be huge later. ESB is a longshot to even make the team, but I wanted to go contrarian if I have a chance at the big prize, and I like the chances Adams wins leagues this year, to pair with ESB in case he does break out at all. I have no doubt there were much safer plays available there.

I've been taking flyers on Lamar Jackson as well. Actually did another draft today that was unusual in that I went WR early because of how the draft played out, and went for high upside RB gambles, probably not going to work out lol.

This has probably been mentioned previously but anyone else frustrated with the fact these... while still being called MFL10's... are no longer hosted on MFL? What the heck is up with that?

Some of us have been setting up and playing alternative leagues on the MFL website. Actually better leagues.... deeper starters, deeper rosters, better scoring systems, survivor style, faster "slow-drafts", 100% payout, etc. Just better.
Personally, I don't miss the vanilla MFL10 leagues at all.
