I went with Chips on the Shoulder. And as my first example, I'm going to introduce Example A.

What exactly is it that has made Tom Brady one of if not THE best professional quarterback in the history of the NFL? Is it is arm strength? Mobility? Wide receivers? Intelligence? Coaching?

I would posit that the greatest trait that Tom Brady has going for him is a giant chip on his shoulder for being an afterthought at the NFL draft all these years ago. I think that chip on his shoulder drives him to this day. Sure, he's played for one of game's greatest minds, but that singular luxury is not what defines this cat. Afterall, Drew Bledsoe, Mike Tomczak, Vennie Testeverde and Bernie Kozar also played under the Mad Genius and while 3 of those 4 are very good, none are in the Hall of Fame.

And yes, he works hard, he's intelligent and he has an above average arm that he constantly seeks to improve. But outside of Randy Moss for a season or two and now Gronk, he's had a toilet full of yuck to work with at WR/TE for most of his career.

What makes an underdog story like Tom's great is that he's always pissed off. Mad that he had to split time at Michigan with a guy who now drives a bread truck for a living. Everyday he wakes up, he thinks about waiting until the 6th round to hear his name called. And that motivation - that CHIP upon his shoulder - is what elevates him to greatness.

I think it's the hair plugs. Arguably the best hair plugs of any male on the planet.

I found it pretty cool that he connects with other prominent NFL players who get drafted in the 6th round. CJ Anderson for example. He actually tracks them and congratulates them specifically.
