Um, Panthers.

Well, if I must choose, Mr. Pasquino, I'd say Dolphins.

Whatever defense has the easiest opponent for that week.

Defense is something you do by committee, unless you have an UNUSUALLY dominant defense (see: Chicago last year).

NY Giants, which pains me to say. They made very good off-season moves, especially Arrington. Their defense will be much improved, and definitely Top 10, possibly higher.

For me it's a toss-up between ATL, Philly, and SD. The Chargers win out due to their schedule:

Oakland twice

Tennessee

San Francisco

Cleveland

Buffalo

Arizona

Should be many opportunities for sacks and interceptions in those games, and (at least in my leagues) that's where FF defenses make their points.

I voted for Atl, but I like Arizona's D this year. They had a solid year last year, hopefully they can force some more turnovers this year. They've got a few young guys who have been in the league for a little. Plus Adrian Wilson is a beast. I haven't checked out their schedule this year though.

I selected the Chargers as well. Along with their schedule (and you might add Denver to the list of good matchups if Plummer plays like the "old" Jake - doubtful given how he played against SD last year, but you never know), they have some excellent playmakers at linebacker. Merriman was outstanding last year and everything I've read has him in better shape and a better frame of mind this season; Steve Foley is excellent, especially getting after the quarterback; and Donnie Edwards seems to get better with age. The Bolts also seem to be happier with their secondary than they have in years, with the drafting of Cromartie at CB and the addition of McCree at safety. Castillo should be better in his second year at DE as well. And Sproles is a good return guy who can go the distance (not that he has yet, though).

Of course, nothing is ever easy with the Chargers, who are supposedly shopping Donnie Edwards. If he gets traded, I think they will drop a lot as, apart from his skills, he is a very good leader for the unit as well.
