Best Fantasy Football Hosting Site (1 Viewer)

now that I have completely disowned my affiliations with Fleaflicker, I have to move about a dozen leagues elsewhere. I already know yahoo and ESPN and their various annoyances, but what about this EA Sports? I went to the www.easports.com webpage, and I am seeing NOTHING.

Help me out here, where is their fantasy football stuff?

Eh....I'm not impressed....I went to set-up a 10 team, 14 week H2H league and it insists that we play doubleheaders. Some of the flexibility I'm used to in Fanball regarding FA pick-ups, waivers, Finances isn;t there. It's a nice looking site but it's not everything...
Just wanted to chime in. The setup instructions state that you really just need to pick a basic schedule that gives you the amount of divisions you want, then you can fully customize the schedule to your liking. We've been using EASports for 3 years now, this'll be our 4th, and I've never run into any major issues (Live Scoring has been especially flawless). The only issue, which has come to light this year, is that they transferred control of the fantasy site to Stats.com, and they are currently working a few outstanding bugs (I can't change which owners are in which division, and I can't change number of divisions in an existing league, etc), but they have been very easy to get a hold of and have assured me that these issues will be worked out soon. The new design looks great as well. Very highly recommended.

Someone tell me what is wrong with ESPN given that its free.

I like fanball and MFL but one of my leagues is full of Yahoo Lifers and I refuse to use yahoo for a few reasons (No live scoring unless you pay the rediculous costs per team or for a full league, not a lot of customization, UI blows). I tried to sell them on MFL last year and due to lack of any developers, they couldnt understand the interface. We went with fanball, it worked fine but of course people still continue to B & M.

So I checked out ESPN. My only concern is the draft, as I have previous experience of getting booted during the draft. Any other issues that any of you can point out? I have already stood up a custom league and found that they have satisfied all of my customization requirements.

Someone else suggested Flea Flicker but personally I think the UI sucks (Like yahoo).

What people dont understand is that the reason this board gives so much praise to MFL is that this board is comprised of a lot of owners who want a lot of customization for their league. MFL offers that. If you are more streamlined and dont care about little tiny details, then any of the other leagues will really do fine. But for the money and the customization, MFL beats out everything else.

Now EAsports? Havnt tried it, but I guess I'll look into it. Can it do taxi squads? Contract years? Increase salaries automatically every year?

I have just started dabbling in customization - and it has already been worth the money. I have been able to put a draft ticker for draft day (like the real draft), good Simpsons/Family Guy clips, ESPN Bottom Line, etc. It has taken me a few days and I am already VERY pleased with how it works. As long as youre willing to spend a small amount of time, the site is great.

i have used Yahoo!, AOL, EASports, CBS and Fleaflicker...out of those, cbs has the most features but they cost you (and their draft allways craps out).the ONLY site (and i litterally do mean ONLY) site that has NEVER, EVER had ANY issues during the live draft (or during the season) is FLEAFLICKER.Yahoo has had the second least f-ups, then ea, then AOL and i swear to "the allmightly" i will never let CBS screw up another of our drafts ever again (4 years running, they have f-ed it up somehow or another, with timeouts, and or players not being correct... good gosh)for my money (none cause its free) Fleaflicker is hands down the best (never tried MFL). It is free AND has FREE LIVE SCORING... thats right, free live scoring. The draft went like cheddah last year, and they have way more ways to manipulate the data of the FA wire.gitterdone!!BAM

The rolling message board of rtsports is a lot better than others and leads to better interaction. I don't know why others haven't adopted this.

I'm sure I'll be one of the only ones, but I truly do like http://www.fanball.com
I'm the commish of a 5 year dynasty league using Fanball.com the whole time. Myself and everyone else loves it. Many of us came from CBS and a few of us still have another re-draft league there. Fanball has no more adds that CBS and almost half the cost.

We switched over to MFL from CBS (when they started the first 4 weeks with serious problems) a few years ago and our league could not be happier. MFL keeps track of contracts, salaries, & future draft picks so its been great for our league. The site is also super customizable and with 0 ads. We have never had a problem with the live scoring on our page or the voice live scoring soft ware.

From my experience Fanball is very slow, and their screens are too busy (crowded).

Has anyone used both MFL and CBS? Wondering what those folks would say....
I've used both repeatedly as commissioner and prefer CBS ...by a LOT
WOW... Commished on both and I could not disagree with you more.

This part of your earlier post makes it understandable why you'd like MFL.com better. The customizability is it's strong point, but for simple H2H leagues all that kinda stuff isn't that important.

Right, that's the point many of us keep trying to drive home. The reason people love MFL is customizability. It's highly likely anyone who prefers another service to MFL doesn't care about customizability.

I just went to EA to try to set up our leauge there just for kicks... see if it's any better than what we've been using. Two problems I had were:1. Could not for the life of me figure out how to set the scoring to award PPR

2. Couldn't ge the site to allow me to modify the schedule. For that matter, couldn't even see the pre-made schedule that they made for us.

For what it's worth, our league has used First Place Sports "Fantasy Comissioner Web" for the past 4 seasons with almost zero problems. For 5 years before that we used FPS desktop software and I e-mailed all the reports to the owners... so we've been using their products for going on 10 seasons now. You can check them out at: www.webleaguemanager.com

I have been using fanball for 4 years now and dont think its bad at all I actually think for 5o bucks you get alot of bang for your buck. ya just have to remember that week 1 set your lineup before sunday cause first week of the year at around noon EVERYONE has to log on to think about last second changes.Other than that I think there awesome plus they have commishioner for your cell phone whick kicks @S$

We're starting up a live, local Las Vegas league and trying to decide on a site. While this is our first year and we're going to keep it simple (redraft), in the future, it'll probably switch to a keeper/dynasty league.

That said, it seems like MFL or CBS is the way to go. Seeing as MFL is 1/2 the cost and is a ton more customizable, it seems like a no brainer, but that said, I'm open to more input....

I'm looking into the EA Sports FFB site and I can't seem to find any message boards or anything where owners can communicate. Maybe I'm just missing it, but I can't find it anywhere.

My league has had good luck with the Commissioner at Fanball

http://www.fanball.com

I have heard some complaints about their live draft (perhaps better? -- dunno). Doesn't really effect my league as we do a live draft and then the commish just enters the results all at once into Fanball. I do like their custom trophies, rivalry weeks, and keeping track of league historical stats (highest points ever by QB - QB name, team owner, year). Stuff like that has made it fun.

I was looking for the exact same thing. Looks like it's at the bottom of the league page where the commish notes are, but you have to click on league message board on the right hand side.I'm torn between EA and FleaFlicker. All I want is free live scoring and good smack talk. While Yahoo! isn't the greatest, it's great for smack!

I decided to just go with ESPN. So far, I think it will work out pretty good. Of course, the season hasn't started yet, so who knows. Another problem I had with EA Sports, was that I would change a setting and when the league was refreshed, none of the changes took effect. This happened repeatedly so I just decided it wasn't worth the effort.

Just wanted to officially comment on my MFL draft last night. It really went about as smoothly as it could have. Everyone was pleased, the site never had any problems and we were done in an hour and forty five minutes. Well worth the $80 bucks we spent this year.

Use without reservations.

Can you have an online draft with fleaflicker or do they only support live drafts?
Wow. First year using Fleaflicker and we ended up having 2 guys that couldn't make the live online draft. The autodraft was absolutely brutal. It took 5 QBs for the one guy and 6 for the other! It drafted 3 QBs, 2 RBs, a Kicker and 2 TEs before it drafted the first WR for one guy. Just totally unbelievable.

Yeah we've been at Fanball for about 5 years now and have had no problems. However, what are these custom trophies and rivarly weeks you speak of? Is the rivarly week thing something new???

We ended up going w/ MFL (Click here for our site). So far, so good and the community is great for any help/questions you might need/have.
