Presumably the acquiring team would sign him to a new deal before agreeing to the trade. That's what tends to happen unless you're the Jets.Seriously, why would they do that?
He's a playmaker on a rookie contract
What would anyone trade him for that they couldn't recoup when he leaves after the season?
In theory, a chance to see if Allen/Davis is a good enough backfield to move forward with. Its also possible (though I haven't heard anything about it) that Hall is a problem behind the scenes about his contract. I mean, just because he's not holding out like Cook, doesn't mean he's just accepting his lack of extension.Seriously, why would they do that?

As far as interesting teams go:If the Jets are serious about trading Breece, where do we think would be a great fit for him to end up? The Chiefs certainly come to mind for me.
First I'm really hearing of him wanting a trade or the Jets wanting to trade himIn theory, a chance to see if Allen/Davis is a good enough backfield to move forward with. I could see a contender trading a 3rd rounder, or a team that at least thinks its a contender. That's more than they'd get as a comp pick, and they'd get it a year earlier.

Bears and Cowboys jump to mind, but 2 really sneaky teams would be Washington (they've shown they know they have a Daniels window, and are open to dealing picks) and Houston (Stroud window, Mixon health may be worse than we know)
ETA: Haven't seen anything suggesting Hall is on the block, but given his usage, the offseason talk, and the lack of extension, I can see the reasons to speculate.
It would be a huge boost to Hall's redraft and dynasty value that's for sure.Tony Pauline reported today that "people close to the situation" speculate Hall could be traded by the trade deadline. Hall also posted a cryptic tweet a few days ago saying "Time will tell." That's probably what's fueling the speculation. I imagine at this point it's mostly "ifs and buts" considering the season hasn't even started yet.
If he is available, Texans seem like a great fit. Mixon's injury could potentially linger and we know little about how severe it truly is, he turns 30 next year and the Texans can save $8.5M cutting him. Early practice reports have been less than glowing on Chubb unfortunately. Texans transitioned back to a power run, gap scheme this year to help with the offensive line woes which (I believe) is a good fit for Hall's style. A minor thing, but G Laken Tomlinson for the Texans blocked for Hall with the Jets a two years ago. HOU has extra picks in the 2nd & 4th next year as well giving them trade ammo. They're middle of the road cap space-wise but could easily free up plenty with some cuts/restructures. As a Texans fan, I can daydream can't I?
