In 2013 Carolina led the NFL in sacks with 60...and Buffalo came in 2nd. In 2014 Buffalo led the way in this category being the only NFL team to surpass 50 on the year. Who will it be in 2015? This article is suggesting it could be Kansas City, which is not a stretch given they are getting 3 starters back they had missing all of last season and because besides Buffalo, the Chiefs are the only NFL team to finish in the top 6 in sacks the last 2 years in a row despite all their injuries. Read this article and name who you think will lead the league. Although this article makes a compelling and logical case, Buffalo has finished 2nd & 1st the last 2 years running

If Clowney is healthy I'd pick Hou. Watt/Clowney... Terrifying.

Given the uncertainty of his healthy I'm picking KC. Too many explosive rushers to not be the pick IMO.

Eagles could be a sleeper team. Last year with inferior or injured LBs they managed 211 pressures for the front 7. KC for comparison had 223 and Stl had 188.

The eagles have upgraded at LB with Alonzo. They've also improved the secondary which should give the front 7 a few more seconds to get to the QB. I have wouldn't be surprised if they were near the top of the stat sheets for pass rushing this season.

My home team is my dark horse. Hardy, Demarcus Lawrence and Randy Gregory will greatly improve the Cowboys pass rush this year.

Houston gets my pick.

You forgot Crawford whom may turn into one of the best interior D linemen this season.

I'm going Rams. I don't believe Clowney.

Miami has to be considered here. Already had strong edge rushers in Wake/Vernon and now adds Suh in the middle.

Rams or Bills is a tough call. Went with STL since I could see them being up in games more often in the 4th quarter. Foles and Gurley will make that offense solid.

Can someone make a case for the Rams or the Texans?

Do either of them have 4 Pro Bowl caliber players in the front 4 (so to speak)? Clowney is a freak, but he doesn't seem to have any heart. Much like a rookie, I'll believe it when I see it on an NFL field.

The Bills have 4 studs up front. All 4 were in the NFL top 100 players list. It wasn't the top 100 DL. It was the top 100 players - period.

I just looked it up. There were only 17 defensive players on that list. Out of those 17, the Bills' pass rush had 4. So... Bills: 4 - Rest of NFL: 13

Consider the Bills might actually have the lead more this year (opponent will be throwing more against them) and also get more sacks via blitzes, hard to not pick them.

There's no such list that isn't completely arbitrary. Kudos though, I guess.

Bills minus Schwartz, plus an older Rex Ryan who's been more and more hesitant to gamble the older he's gotten, versus a Rams team going into year two under Williams, plus Chris Long who missed most of last year, plus Nick Fairley there to spell guys more on non-passing downs, plus Aaron Donald not handicapped by being a small-time role player the first half of the season.

I think the Rams have to be the clear fave. Not that it's worth thinking all that much on, since sacks tend to be a crapshoot no matter how good your team is.

I think the Jets have a shot.

There were 4 sacks between them and #2 last year. They bring in an aggressive, defensive minded head coach but more importantly stud cover dbs who can hold their own long enough to let the line swallow people whole. Losing Richardson for the first quarter doesn't help though.

The Texans have three All Pro caliber players in Watt, Wilfork & Cushing plus possibly Clowney. The last three have questions with age and injuries, but Watt should really count as 2 players he's so awesome.Edit: That said, unless Clowney blows it up, I don't think the Texans lead it. Too many holes at safety & LB'er and on the offensive side to help the defense. They'll be a great defense, but probably not league leading.

I like Hou a lot but Wilfork isn't an All Pro caliber player. Not anymore at least. Once upon a time, sure. Hou D can take a monumental leap this year if Clowney is healthy IMO. It's a solid unit either way. Clowney being who we hope he is would make it elite, though.

Nobody blitzes more than Bowles, percentage-wise. But it depends on whether the Jets choose to use Cromartie and Revis and their slower linebackers to play zones, or whether Bowles isolates his corners and blitzes like he did with the Cards.

He doesn't run a pure 3-4, BTW, but it is a base 3-4, so you'd have to imagine that the linebackers and their age is a concern.
