Trying to think of a better 2 week non-QB fantasy playoff score than Gurley last 2 (hell probably include QB)
Anyone rival that?
Anyone rival that?
I got hit by the Charles bus in 2013, caught the ODB train in 2014, but didn't win until I drafted Bell, Freeman, and Hyde and won in '16. Just having Freeman sitting in the FLEX of a short position league with short benches was huge.I looked up some runs I remember. Not definitive but man has Gurley been epic. 0.5PPR
Gurley - 2017 - 120.58
Charles - 2013 - 110.04
ODB - 2014 - 97.43
I was going to ask about LaDanian.LT 31 tds is the answer you seek.
Gurley had the better 2 game playoff stretch though(week 15/16).I was going to ask about LaDanian.
Was nothing special in the championship week though.LT 31 tds is the answer you seek.
Yeah definitely peaked at the right time. Although not sure many leagues he went end of third. Still would take 2006 LT over him though. Was nothing special in the championship week though.
I think Gurley might be the best draft pick in the last 15 years of fantasy football. Stud all year, and saved his best for when it mattered most. Plus he wasn't a top pick either. He went at the end of round 3 in my league.
I got hit by all 3. Unreal.I got hit by the Charles bus in 2013, caught the ODB train in 2014, but didn't win until I drafted Bell, Freeman, and Hyde and won in '16. Just having Freeman sitting in the FLEX of a short position league with short benches was huge.
While it wasn't as many points as Gurley(or other RB's) Marvin Harrison had back to back 30 point weeks to end the 2006 season. Tomlinson was no match for him that year come playoff time.Yeah definitely peaked at the right time. Although not sure many leagues he went end of third. Still would take 2006 LT over him though.
Umm no. Had him that year. Greatest team I ever had until this season (but that's another story). He didn't score week 16. Was against Seattle, had like an 80 yarder called back. I lost by 10 to a team that backed in. Too years to get over it. I'm not joking,LT 31 tds is the answer you seek.
Nice. Too bad Harstad doesn't post here much anymore.Adam Harstad posted on Twitter:
"Todd Gurley just passed 2003 LaDainian Tomlinson for most PPR fantasy points in weeks 14-16, all-time. Passed Jamaal Charles 2013 for most fantasy points in standard.
I've mentioned this before, but if you weight weeks by how much they impact your championship odds, weeks 14-16 are literally more valuable than weeks 1-13 combined."

Drew BennettBilly Volek and the WR he was glued to come to mind.
Bonus for both being available on waivers. Gurley you'd have to have had all year and make the playoffs in spite of his bad weeks to get the points explosion now.
I think you're right... not sure if it was the year you guys are referencing, but I remember a sort of "down" week where I was then carried by Larry Johnson.Umm no. Had him that year. Greatest team I ever had until this season (but that's another story). He didn't score week 16. Was against Seattle, had like an 80 yarder called back. I lost by 10 to a team that backed in. But yes, an amazing year over all.
Our Gurley owner got bounced in the first round. But, I would have loved to have Gurley on my squad all year after having to deal with the DJ injury all season having picked first overall. I got bounced in the first round as well, but would be staring a championship in the face with Gurley.Funny thing in both my leagues the Gurley owner didn't even make the playoffs.
Week 5 was really his only bad week. He was remarkably consistent for his owners this year, true stud nearly every week with a high floor and astronomical ceiling.Walking Boot said:Gurley you'd have to have had all year and make the playoffs in spite of his bad weeks to get the points explosion now.

I remember this well, I believe it was 1999 and I was playing for my first championship (league started early 90's and is still going to this day).sjdogs said:Patrick Jeffers
I feel ya dude. '99 season I had Warner. Started out 12-0. Lost last regular season game. Ended up facing owner who beat in the championship. He had Jeffers and Tony Gonzales playing on Saturday. 5 combined TDs before my team even took the field. One of my top bad beat stories to go with this year in a league I traded Gurley for Antonio week 7. I had lost Beckham but felt loaded at RB with Ingram, Kamara and Freeman. 11-3 and by far the most points. Of course I face the owner I traded with who got last seed at 7-7 and beat me round one. And only by 13.5 and me getting 2 points before Antonio ripped his calf in half. Oh well...win some, lose some.I remember this well, I believe it was 1999 and I was playing for my first championship (league started early 90's and is still going to this day).
Week 1 I had picked up an unknown QB named Kurt Warner and when I added a mid-season pick-up of some dude named Patrick Jeffers, we easily won the regular season.
We coasted to the championship game in Week 16, where I decided to bench both Warner (Rams clinched the #1 seed already adn had nothing to play for) as I figured he wouldn't play long. I also made the decision to sit Jeffers right before kickoff, as HEAVY snow was falling in his game (in PIT I believe, or at least somewhere in the NE).
I was partially right about Warner, as he only played the first half. Unfortunately, he threw for something like 300 yards and 3TD's in the first half as I watched on in horror. Simultaneously, I watch Jeffers catch a 50+yd TD bomb, and then shortly after a 70+yd TD bomb, as the opposing DB's were sliding all over the field. Feels like yesterday.
My replacements....Tony Banks and Qadry Ismail of the high octane Baltimore Ravens*, playing against CIN I believe.
It did not end well. I still hear about it to this day.
Fifteen years later, I trade OBJ for Rueben Randle around week 7 to get some salary cap relief, and proceed to watch OBJ begin his ascension to stardom, only to play against him in the championship game. Also did not end well.
Not sure which of those two years hurts more.
*not high octane
Yep. 800 yards 13 touchdowns over the last 6 games of the season. Won redraft and dynasty titles that year.Anyone remember Deangelo Williams' 4 TD game in week 16 several years back? That was the icing on the cake to a career year (20 total TDs) and won many people a championship.![]()
The owner in my league got in as the six seed. I was number 2. My entire squad underperformed and all he had was Gurley. He’s going to win handily.shadyridr said:Funny thing in both my leagues the Gurley owner didn't even make the playoffs.
I didn’t either. Terrible luck early with high points against and Cook injury hurt. Lost week 13 and had 2nd highest points in the league. Missed by a 1/2 game. On the couch I’ve had high points each round of the playoffs. Sucks. Just got to get thereshadyridr said:Funny thing in both my leagues the Gurley owner didn't even make the playoffs.
