I have a brighter room so I went with a Sony mini led and really happy with it. You really can’t go wrong with any LG/Samsung/SonyAlso use a Sonos Beam soundbar

This one is the dream. However, I can't even talk myself into the C3 / C4. Came across the ('23) G3 on clearance on costco's website today for $999.97. Of course, it was out of stock.

I currently have a 50" 2016/2017 cheap Costco Samsung 4K LED that's falling apart. Was going to live with it for another year, before deciding I should just throw $230 at a TCL S-series 55", since the reflectors in the Samsung are literally falling off one by one.

From there, decided if I was going to deal with it this year, I might as well do a little more to get a better bang-for-buck TV that's half-decent. Led me to a Hisense U7N 55" for $480. Saw a U8N on Amazon for $650, and begrudgingly decided it was probably worth tiering up --- but (classic Amazon Prime) no delivery available until FEBRUARY. That of course led me over to BB black Friday, where I could get the U8N at $700.

Recklessly, decided to throw in another $200 to step up to 65". I'm definitely pushing it at that size for my living room space, but no significant other to tell me what a monstrosity it is, so why not? Going from a cheap 50" 2016 to a decent upper/mid-range 65" should inject a little joy. Further drove myself mad debating between the Hisense U8N and TCL MQ8 in the 65". Several order cancellations later, decided to stick with Hisense due to better audio reviews. Don't have a strong desire to throw another $400/500+ at a quality soundbar.

Definitely didn't have a very high brand opinion of Hisense (and to some degree TCL) coming into this blindly, but supposedly they're closing the gap and offering pretty decent value. Or perhaps I've been hoodwinked? Since I have now leveled up from a $230 band-aid to $900, maybe I should keep going all the way to LG C4 or even G4 OLED. The better viewing angle alone would be a big plus, but I think I've pushed it as far as I'm willing to go.

My wife complained when I went from a tube tv to a 40”. Complained when I upgraded to 55” and hated when I went to 65”

Wanted to get an 85” for the basement last year and she said it was too small and we should get 100” when they fall in price.

Women, amirite?

Best Buy was kind enough to prepare a chart that showed I wasn't being unreasonable. Not like Circuit City, who once told me I had gone mad with power when I wanted to step up to a 32". Where are they now?

I have a projector in the basement so I can run my 105" screen. Whenever that bulb goes I may consider just buying a 100" Tv

I have two LG OLED's. Amazing. However, if your room has a lot of window light, might not be the best fit.
