RB is a need. The point is that if James Starks was starting material, why would they draft a RB in the 3rd round that doesn't offer a different skill set?
Other needs:
5 technique DE- I feel that Mike Neal was a reach and they don't have great talent at the position as Ryan Pickett only plays 15-20 snaps a game as he is getting old.
CB- Sam Shields played out of his rear and i'm not sure they should expect that production to continue. Also Woodson is old and a 3rd CB either way is a need, as seen in the Super Bowl when he went down.
OLB- Mathews has the one side....but they need more pressure opposite him.
Again, they they draft an RB is because they only have Starks on the Roster locked up past this season. Jackson is likely gone, Grant has one year left and is hitting that magic age.DE...
glad you feel Neal was a reach, prior to his injury he was coming on strong and playing well. They can also still go after keeping Cullen Jenkins.
CB...it will happen eventually, that
you consider Shields just played out of his rear is hilarious. I think I will trust their DB coaches who are pretty darn good at what they do over the biased Bears fan who is not an NFL talent scout. Woodson is getting older for sure. But they have several CBs on the roster they have been working with. I would have liked to have seen another brought in...but don't see it as any more pressing a need than RB was.
OLB...Zombo, Walden...I think they feel ok there for now with what they have and the other picks they were adding. And in the 3rd there was nobody that just jumped out. They are a BPA drafting team and with their youth and depth, they can afford to do so still.
