Better player: Calvin or Fitz? (1 Viewer)

LOL at better body control.
Keep laughing, guy. It's about all you've got.
Also what else is there? Have you ever considered that hands is one of the most important elements to a WR.
Your point? CJ is right there with him. This is not Randy Moss we're talking about. You seem to lack the mental capacity to adjust for the difference between Kurt f'ing Warner and Dan Orlovsky.
Just to be clear that i don't dislike Calvin i have him as my #2 dynasty WR and don't think your wrong to have him #1, but to say things like clearly and then back it up with false statements is just ridiculous.
Some things are clear ... if you watch the games.False statements? Try refuting just one. Show me a video of Larry Fitzgerald's SUPERIOR body control. Leaping ability. I DARE you to show me either of those two things in particular.Hint: "LOL" does not refute anything.

Pretty much lost me here...
Because you don't know what it is or because you think Fitz >=?If it's the latter, http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=wXRqyjzyBRg&...feature=related.

The former, I don't know what to tell you. It exists, and it's evident in every football game you'll ever watch.
I can post college highlights as well....http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=3a-lMkPD31A

Not that it's relevant to the actual point I made (body control), but none of those catches are in the same galaxy as CJ's.

Calvin is not right with Fitz when it comes to hands. Calvins are good but not in the same league, and yes i've watched both of them since college. Gotta love the if you watch games line.It seems your a youtube clip watcher and base all your opinions on that. You'll get a far better handle on players by watching the actual games and not espn highlight reels.i'm not going to continue arguing with you since i'm not even saying your wrong for having Calvin #1, it's just your reasoning carries no logic.

He simply is. Find me any (worthwhile) scouting report that says otherwise. Here's a hint: don't bother with ESPN (Mel Kiper, Scouts Inc.) or Mike Mayock, because they all said CJ has some of the best hands they've ever seen.Even if Fitzgerald is No. 1 on their lists (doubtful), that CJ is among the best would prove my point. Again, a key point is the need for Fitzgerald to make so many spectacular catches. He very rarely gets open (seperation) like CJ does. He's just not that type of WR. I'll give the guy credit for making the catches, but not for putting himself in the position to need to do so.

I can't make it any clearer, but I'm commenting on CJ as a player - NOT a fantasy producer. I've already said I'm a Fitz owner and WOULDN'T trade him for CJ ... or even CJ and change, for that matter. But fantasy and reality are very different things. Swap teams and there would be no comparison. (Testament to CJ that they're even comparable with the state of the Lions. Fitzgerald would've been lucky to top 50 yards in CJ's place last Sunday against the Texans.)Again, maybe I should bold fantasy talk and italicize non-fantasy talk, but my opinion of the two as detailed previously is of them as NFL WRs - not fantasy producers.

Fitz' best year of 10 TD's doesn't even sniff what Calvin Johnson aspires to become in his career. If Calvin was manning Colston's slot in New Orleans or Fitz' slot in Arizona, I dare say we'd be having threads here already arguing he's going to be the greatest WR ever.
This is where we differ. I don't think Calvin's ceiling is much higher than Fitz's. I like Calvin. Always have. Drafted him in one dynasty this year and would've taken him in another if Moss hadn't slipped to my pick.

But I think internet pundits have exaggerated his upside a little bit. He's not Randy Moss.

I'll take Fitzgerald and his guaranteed 100 catches, 1400 yards, and double digit TDs.
I agree, and I dont understand why people say this either. How can his upside be "way higher" than a guy who gets you 100 catches 1400 yards and double digit TD's every time he plays a full season. That concept is lost on me
You put 'way higher' in quotes. Granted I just quickly scanned the thread and could be missing it - but I'm not seeing where anyone in this thread has said his upside is way higher.
Nice back pedal.

Calvin isn't even close to his peak. He is only in his second year. How good will Calvin be when he has 5 years experience and plays with a solid QB?

When Calvin gets experience and has a QB who allows him to catch 100 passes, I think he will put up 1600-1700 or so yards and 15 TDs.

I say Fitzgerald. I just like Arizona as an organization so much more. They have the new stadium, they are becoming a tough team to beat at home, and they are going to attract better free agents.

The Lions won't replace Matt Mullen anyone better. Why not? Because ownership was stupid enough to keep him as long as they did. So how can it be expected they can hire someone else that knows what they are doing?

Prediction - with a top 5 pick in the NFL draft - the Detroit Lions select Michael Crabtree

Then in free agency - the Lions sign Jeff Garcia to be their QB of the future.

Thus crushing any value Calvin has......
