I'll get a lot more in-depth on this subject in this weeks EOTG but in short there are several considerations here that go well beyond the fact that Beisel had a big game in relief. Sure he will have a week to practice but the coaches will have a week to prepare as well and figure out how they can best patch the hole created by the loss of one of their key playmakers. Maybe he plays on passing downs, maybe the club elects to use more 4-3 alignment. What we do know for certain is that Monty Beisel can't carry Karlos Dansby's jock much less do the same job in this defense. Beisel is a decent backup but he's not a playmaker by any stretch. You can assume that he'll step right in just the way he did on Sunday but the reality of it is that we have no idea what Beisel's role will be until we see it. With that in mind, I simply can't project him with big numbers at this point. As for Hayes, he is #4 for all the reasons you mentioned plus the fact that he is a know commodity and is now the undisputed leader in the middle of this defense. No matter what the coaching staff elects to do, we can be certain that Hayes is going to be an every down player and we already know he is VERY capable. If/when I can get a better feel for Beisel's role later in the week, his projections will be adjusted accordingly. That said, we know he's not a serious big play threat. Without that potential factored into his projection he may show up lower in the rankings even if he becomes a very consistent tackle producer. The rankings are based purely on projected numbers and relate no consideration for consistency or confidence. Unfortunately this is an imperfect way to make rankings/cheat sheets but its the best system we have at this point.
