Sorry to break your cocoon open, but yeah.Whoa whoa. People didn't think the office was funny???
Ok, so the basic idea is that at the "beginning" of our universe, all matter was compacted into a single, super-dense speck. Then something happened to cause that speck to start expanding at incredible speeds. This "explosion" was the Big Bang. Since then, matter in the universe has been expanding farther and farther from the center.Pumpnick said:I just don't get it? horrible
This thread 2 or 3 years ago wouldn't have made any sense but now...yeah the show is past it's peak and gone downhill fast.Pumpnick said:I just don't get it? horrible

So you watched sunny in Philadelphia for 7 whole episodes?I can't remember the last time I watched a comedy series to the end. I like the first couple seasons of big bang theory. Then Kaley Cuoco started dating Leonard and Blossom was on it a lot and I kind of stopped. I liked the office. Then somebody bought dunder mifflin or something, stopped. I liked always sunny. Then Danny devito. Stopped. How I met your mother. No idea when I stopped. No real reason. Don't mind watching it, just stopped. 30 rock. So good early on. Can't remember when our why I stopped. So many good comedies and either they couldn't sustain it or I just got bored with it.
three seasons maybe? I don't know. I definitely watched a bunch of his episodes. Just don't like him. Every scene he's in is worse because of him.So you watched sunny in Philadelphia for 7 whole episodes?I can't remember the last time I watched a comedy series to the end. An accompanying theory is that, at some point, the universe will reach its limit, and then will start to contract. Eventually it will all collapse back down into a single, super-dense speck and the whole cycle will start again.
Most shows peak in their first few years and then they just become a cash cow set on automatic. This is kinda where I'm at...I can't remember the last time I watched a comedy series to the end. Early Bing Bang Theory was formulaic as most sitCom's are, but it was also pretty clever. Great for mindless humor after a long day when you want to just turn your brain off and be entertained. Has its time and place, I guess. But yeah... it's been in a downward spiral for a while now.
It seems unlikely given what we know today that the universe will contract. It is not only expanding it is getting faster not slowing down.Ok, so the basic idea is that at the "beginning" of our universe, all matter was compacted into a single, super-dense speck. Those three are great. Kripkie is $$ also. I used to love this show but now its pretty bad. Penny's hair hasn't helped. When I go back and watch the old Three and a Half Men show's this stuff looks even worse now.I do like the guest actors that they get. Christine Baranski and Laurie Metcalf are very good as Leonard and Sheldon's mothers. Bob Newhart is also good as Professor Proton.
Yeah Bernadette is really put together.I still like it and find it funny...watch it every week.
Look...for those of you complaining about Penny's visual decline (early seasons, she had hair and was frequently wearing shirts with no bra, lately she looks matronly), all I have to say is that if the show ever is really in ratings jeopardy, all they have to do is write some episodes where Bernadette has a slutty phase, and that'll pull everyone right back in. She's stacked...![]()

Early Jim Parsons was really clever too...one of the best acting jobs I've ever seen in a sitcom. This is kinda where I'm at...I can't remember the last time I watched a comedy series to the end. Yes, current observations suggest The Big Rip lies ahead as every bit of matter and space gets infinitely stretchedIt seems unlikely given what we know today that the universe will contract. You stopped watching Sunny when Danny DeVito showed up? That might be the most insane thing I've ever read on this board.I can't remember the last time I watched a comedy series to the end. Missed haiku opportunity IMOthe show has declined
but I still enjoy her boobs

I personally hoped that when Leonard was going to get married that they brought back Priya or Leslie Winkle for some episodes.Like most shows, it has to evolve....but it doesn't want to in a way that upsets the formula too much. To that, you get:
1. The marriage....but the predictable "Leonard still has to live with Sheldon".
2. Penny (I'm presuming Cuoco wanted her character to mature), getting a job as a high dollar Pharma-Girl and losing her 'twentysomething" hotness.
3. Raj getting the hot girlfriend, but still embracing his metro/bromance relationship with Howard.
4. Almost on cue (due to sweeps/ratings) evolutions in Sheldon and Amy's relationship.
The smartest thing they probably could have done was have Penny become a cult movie star due to her Ape Movie. At least they could have gotten a couple of seasons out of her embracing (and deriding) the nerdom that comes with the Comic/FanboyConvention Circuit and more fully embrace the World that the guys enjoy so much. You could have had a season where shes's the objecy of the advances of a real actor playing himseld and brought him on for awhile (someone who has the nerd cred or something like that so you could juxtapose the Boys idolization of him/his character with their hatred for trying to steal Penny). You might have even been able to make it sort of a "nerd" Entourage type show...as Penny would start getting casted in other fanboy movies that the Boys love. Instead...they went predictable.
This is where I am at. The show was funny at first but it got old. My DVR is still programmed to record so I watch it occasionally. Some weeks I just delete it. I would not care if the show ended immediately. As far as the show goes, I loved it for a long time, but the last couple seasons have been rather blah. I like it enough to still watch, but I am unimpressed.
Does it count as "watching a comedy series to the end" if the show gets cancelled and you're still watching? I was still all-in on Arrested Development to the end in its run on network TV, but that one ended prematurely. For a network sitcom that had a bunch of seasons and a proper finale where I watched every episode (or almost every episode) during its run, I think I might need to go all the way back to Seinfeld. I can't think of any since then.I can't remember the last time I watched a comedy series to the end. I like the first couple seasons of big bang theory. That is what happens when one films in front of a live audience."We're nerdy"
*laughtrack*
"We play video games"
*lauggtrack*
"We aren't athletic"
*laughtrack*
I probably left out some laughtracks, but you get the gist.
