Big Ben (1 Viewer)

so i resisted all temptation to play other options and am now starting ben. Glad I did too, as Yates and other options really tanked.

I need him to throw for 250+ and 3 TDs to win. NO TURNOVERS either or these number must be better. Dont feel good about it. He has scored over 28 pts(what I need) twice this year. I give my chances about 25%. It does seem that SF will gve up TD passes. ARZ had great success last week and PIT is a passing team.

Anybody else hoping for hurt Big Ben to have a monster game? :hey:

I am but not for fantasy reasons...

I need him to not play--and even then would need the Steelers defense to tank like the Ravens did.

Can't believe how my starters crashed and burned.

WFAN reports they are going to see how he looks in warmups. He's no sure thing to start.
This game is huge for the Steelers. I will be surprised if he doesn't at least give it a go...
Agree. I think he'll try to go. Which makes it even more iffy for those who have him and Batch.Fortunately, I just have Antonio Brown, and I just need 5 points or so from him--or for the Steelers to shut down Gore.

if he doesnt play it would suck for two reasons. first I would have no chance on winning my fantasy game and second MNF will be horrid if its Charlie Batch vs SF Def. they are just hyping this thing up some more. after he has a good game they can talk about how tough he is. I actually dont think this game is close if ben plays, sf has peaked.....

I sat him for Yates. Not only because of the injury drama, but with Pouncey out and one or two other O-line changes, Ben's lack of mobility could be an issue tonight.

I hope~1) He has a monster game tonight to reward you for going for it.2) I dodge a bullet tonight.3) He has a monster game for both of us next week!

I hope~1) He has a monster game tonight to reward you for going for it.Amen to that. I have both Wallace and Ben in 2 separate leagues, and need some points to pull it out. I think Ben plays tonight, and will be forced to the air. With Pouncey out, and Patrick Willis out of the SF middle, I can see a lot of quick slants, short crossing routes. let's go Big ben!2) I dodge a bullet tonight.3) He has a monster game for both of us next week!

even if i lose, my league has a nice $$ prize for third and I love Bens matchup next week @ home vs STL. I am hoping for a repeat of that titans game earlier this year(5 tds) tonight. they will have to pass to score

This is hilarious. I am watching ESPN and he literally looks like he can't walk. He's limping like crazy even when he drops back.

And in 90 mins when its game time that limp will MAGICALLY disappear!! It's so ridiculous at this point, we have seen this same story about 50 times in his career. Why do people still buy it?

I pray to God you're right.

He played pretty well with a limp last week

ESPY voters?

hes limping pretty badly
Don't fall for it. Last time I thought the same thing was burned by this. It was the week 5. I saw Rapelisburger limping badly in the Tunnell before the game. Could barely walk without wincing severly. So I benched him for Kevin Kolb vs the happless Vikings. Ben was playing the #1 D at the time too in Tennessee.Roth put up 30 Kolb put up 8. The more hurt this guy is the better he plays.

That's not Magic, it's Toradol.

Not looking good. Looks like I am playing for third....

so i was reading on roto that steelers might sit ben this week? cant they win some games to improve their playoff spot? should we be looking for other options regardless because of hoe he played? One option that is out there is Orton vs Oak. There could be some points there.... what are other ben owners thinking?

If you are going to play him in a 20-3 game with 6 minutes left, why wouldn't you play him a week later, at home, against the Rams?

good point. I guess odds are hes still playing then. They need a feel good game for the offense anyways and STL is a pretty awful defense...

Wondering the same. They could beat the Rams if they ran Mendenhall out of the single-wing the entire game. So that's a worry. Do the Steelers have any incentive to win this week from a playoff seeding standpoint?A bit of good news:
Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger was sore and "no worse for wear" following a 20-3 loss at San Francisco on Monday night.

I am thinking he will play and they will run their offense. Mendanhall should have a good game, but I would think the steelers will continue to try and throw it around. STL is nowhere near SF in terms of defense(or anything else), so I would think Ben could get a couple of TDs. most likely a turnover or two as well. I would guess they are itching to get back on the field and play to forget about last nights game...

They were talking on the Sirius fantasy channel as if Batch WILL start this week.

Did I miss something?

No way they would make that call so early in the week, right?

I have not read that anywhere. If they do sit him, I would rather they tell us now so we can prepare. I would have to roll with orton or grossman. Yikes

(TheHuddle) Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said QB Ben Roethlisberger's (ankle) ankle did not get worse after he played on it in Week 15. Tomlin said he never considered pulling Roethlisberger from the game despite his mobility issues. He will be re-evaluated Wednesday, Dec. 21, but he expects to play in Week 16 against the St. Louis Rams even if he is '5 percent.'Roethlisberger denied taking a pain-killing injection after ESPN spent all night talking about how he surely did. "They would never put me out there and endanger me or anybody on this team. There was no injection, there was two Tylenols and two Advil," said Roethlisberger.

I think so. The Steelers are going to continue to throw the ball -- it is who they are. They actually moved the ball pretty well against the 49ers (389 yards). The problem was the turnovers. Assuming they don't turn the ball over 4 times I think the Steelers and Ben have an easy day on Christmas Eve (at least I hope they do).

What are people doing with Wallace this week? Easy matchup and you gotta believe he can burn the depleted STL secondary but with a gimpy Ben and the fact that Wallace has been nothing more than a WR3 since Brown's emergence Im wondering if its time to move on.

Depends on your options, but I would not sit him

Steelers officials would be "shocked" if Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) plays in Saturday's game against the Rams, according to NFL.com's Jason La Canfora.Coach Mike Tomlin hasn't hinted at Roethlisberger's status, but La Canfora says the organization expects at least one week of rest. It makes a ton of sense. The Steelers' hopes for a first-round bye are fading, Big Ben was immobile on Monday night and they can beat the Rams at home with Charlie Batch. It's time to downgrade Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown.

Per Mark Kaboly (Pittsburgh Tribune Review Steelers Beat Reporter):

Ben NOT wearing boot in locker room today, when asked about report declaring him OUT this weekend Ben responded "... that's news to me..."

He may end up play after all...

Ben Roethlisberger (ankle) says he escaped Monday's loss without further injury.Roethlisberger also said he's ahead of where he was this time last week, and implied he'd like to start against the Rams. He admitted the decision isn't up to him, however. With the Steelers essentially locked into the fifth seed in the AFC barring the Browns upsetting Baltimore this weekend, expect Pittsburgh to hold its hobbling quarterback out against the league's second-worst team
