Big, Fast WRs like Moss/Owens (1 Viewer)

Let's take Matt Jones out of the equation. He's afraid of contact as a WR, he sure isn't going to initiate it as a defender. You want a big fast guy who couldn't cut it as a WR, how about Tyrone Calico?

Randy Moss is 6'4", runs a 4.2 40 and has over a 40" vertical leap. Not too mention ungodly quickness, body control, hand eye coordination and hands. The reason you don't find anyone else like this out there (who could possibly cover him or TO) is because such a person does not exist. This is a simple question that can be answered by the cruel laws of supply and demand.

Jaws made a great point on ESPN today. The Cover-2 Scheme that many teams rely on today, leaves safeties matched deep with WRs and players like Moss and TO can easily take advantage of this situation. Jaws suggested Cover-2 D's, swapping the positions of the corners and safeties. Play the safeties close to the line so they can best help against the run and play physically with WRs. Then, in deep coverage, place your fastest and most athletic defenders to protect against the deep ball. Seems to make some sense.

This is an idiotic suggestion from one of the guys I respect the most on TV.

There are very few big CBs in recent memory......the Giants' Jason Sehorn (6'2") and the Eagles' Bobby Taylor (6'3") come to mind. In their primes, they may have been able to deal with T.O. better than today's smaller corners can. Both were big and athletic, but I still don't think they'd be a match for a guy like Moss...
