Big Ten Basketball 2022/2023 - Return to Power (1 Viewer)

Liked what I saw of our 2nd line players last night. Costello could end up being a beast by the end of the season. Ellis Schilling and K3nny K all looking really good. All this extra playing time only helps down the road. Really like how AP and Costello are playing together.

This team only goes where Valentine and Trice can take them... at least as long as Appling/Dawson are out. When Denzel and Travis play well (i.e. smart), Sparty is really hard to beat. When they play dumb (yes, I'm talking to you "drive the lane even when there are 5 defenders in there" Valentine), they have to scrape and claw for a win against decent teams.

Trice has been solid in a fill-in role, Valentine is so raw, you never know what you are going to get. IMO, the biggest surprises have been the 3 freshman Kenny, Ellis and Schilling. They have more than made up for Denzel's failings. Costello and AP inside have been really dominate as of late. Coming together nicely as a pair of bigs.

Big game in Ann Arbor now, could have a big impact on the conference shakes out. Wisc is back in the running with a win, but pretty much dead if they fall to 7-6.

Bob Marley's kid kicked our ### today. Horrible performance. :X
They have no halfcourt offense at all. They can't shoot, they can't move the ball to get good shots. All you have to do is collapse on Payne and they're stopped. Then just slow the game down, avoid turnovers that lead to fastbreak points and you win. Lots of teams out there who can (and will) copy Nebraska's gameplan.

And I haven't seen every game but from the ones I have, Denzel Valentine is an absolute cancer out there. His basketball IQ is zero. He destroys any kind of offensive flow and MSU would be a better team if he never saw the court again.

Today was just one of those days. You are going to have those every once in a while, yep, even at home. There were way too many turnovers today and lots of poor shots, we didn't deserve to win today. Heck, we were in the bonus with no fouls on us (that has never happened as far as I can recall, ever) and we still couldn't do anything today. LOL.

Tonight's Iowa at Indiana game has been postponed due to a beam or large piece of metal falling into a seating area at Assembly Hall.

Another big road win for Wisconsin. They seem to be hitting their stride after a pretty bad stretch. Frank the Tank has been playing out of his mind. There might not be enough time to make up 2 games but they *should* win out.

IND

@ Penn ST

Purdue

@ Nebraska

I hope Nebraska keeps making a bubble push. That should be a fun game if they need a signature win.

MSU doing what it always does, nobody wants ball in crunch time. Appling needs to rest he's killing them out there.

Gotta love Appling slapping the floor to play defense a few times every game, but then as soon as something goes wrong, he's grabs his wrist in pain.

LeVert!!!! Passing up the open 3 for a slam. Sweet move.
I'm hoping GR III watches the way LeVert aggressively creates shots for himself.

Man, I'd loved to see all these shooters come back along with McGary (replacing the bigs who should be done after this year).

I think Horford has one more year left. I have a hard time seeing Stauskas returning. GR3 should come back, but who knows. The way LeVert has improved this year, he will be in the NBA eventually as well. He is one of the most underrated players in the country.

It took a 19 pt comeback, OT and a GR3 buzzer beater, but UM holds onto lone control of 1st. That was a heck of a comeback.

They played completely flat. A bit concerned about the "playing to your competition" narrative that seems to be forming. That doesn't work in the NCAA tournament.

Michigan's biggest problem with being threat in the tourney is depth. The starters are playing almost full time and putting up all the stats.

Not sure whats happened to this team, but they have completely come off the rails in the last month. No one can make shots, AP looks lost out there and Appling shouldn't even be out there period. Kid can't even muster enough strength to shoot a free throw.

they are god awful right now. :X

They go 8 deep. That's plenty for a college team.
Right. Michigan is pretty deep. Horford is a decent big man off the bench, is a junior and not much of a step down from Morgan. Spike is a solid PG not because he is talented but because he knows what he can/can't do and plays within it, Irvin is streaky, but has the ability to take a game over with his 3 point shooting. That's a pretty good bench for college.

Season on the drink continues; Indiana's inconsistency is maddening this year. I know it is to be expected with a young roster, but their best games and their worst games have been worlds apart.

Illinois hadnt given up more than 49 in their last 3 games. Michigan on pace for 104 at half time. Stauskas shut that USA chant up real quick with a 3 from 25 feet out.
