Big Ten Basketball 2022/2023 - Return to Power (2 Viewers)

If these ******** blow another 20 point lead I’m going to freak the **** out.
That 3+ hour practice the day before the Wisky game must have gotten some guys' attention. Good to see back-to-back games with good defense.

TJD was a monster last night.
I couldn’t watch the 2nd half mostly for my blood pressure and I had to make dinner with the wife.

Great to see them finish off a game strong.

What are they saying about Race’s injury. I think this starting lineup might be better in the long run but they need his depth.
I don't think I've heard anything from the IU staff. The game announcers said they thought both Race and X would be back by the end of the season, but IDK what that was based on.
It’s crazy how little info there is in College Bball.
I’m sure HIIPPA factors in to a degree. The players would have to consent to releasing info. They did mention that X was on the court in a boot, shooting 3s before the game

Xavier would be great depth but Jalen HS is the dude now at PG and Bates and Galloway are fine at SG. They could find a rotation with Xavier I'm sure but don't mess with JHS's minutes in my view.

Xavier is much better defensively than Jordan; at least for now.

Xavier for me would be a specialist. Bring him in for energy and defense, let him go in spurts. He gets a little wild at times, JHS is so smooth in comparison. Hope he isn’t one and done.

I do think JHS getting this much trial by fire (and responding to it with growth) early might pay off in March.

Another Dub. Felt like Dain Dainja's coming out party last game. An absolute load down low. Hawkins gets the press, but Dainja is the big that'll be key to them going anywhere this year IMO.
It is amazing how different he moves compared to Kofi with almost the same body type. You can tell Kofi was a kid who didn't play basketball but grew into his body and people made him play hoops instead of soccer. Where it looks like Dain started as a little kid who had some moves and dribbling ability and then grew. I just hope by tourny time Underwood can figure it out with this team and get them to run off 5 or 6 decent games in a row.

Maryland pushing Purdue...Purdue looking sloppy with 4 minutes left.
Purdue doesn't like being pressed.

They've done a good job defending Jamir Young, though he's starting to get loose a little. Julian Reese is holding his own against Edey, which I thought would be the biggest mismatch. Hart & Scott have to find a way to get off if MD is going to win.

Jackson-Davis is a phenomenal player. Love his skills and love his demeanor/temperament on the court even more.
I wonder if his game can translate to the NBA as maybe a bench guy. It’s crazy to me he hasn’t been able to establish any type of jump shot.

Maryland played a great second half. Kudos to them. I think Purdue was mentally and physically tired being the third game of the week. Really sloppy passing and ball movement during the second half. Lucky to escape with the W. Not looking forward to visiting there next month. Hope you guys get on a roll and get some Ws. Fun to watch when you guys are playing good.

Not too sure about Trey Kaufman-Renn. He's flashed a few times, but mostly looks soft out there. Hoping Purdue has a back up plan at center when Edey leaves. I'd almost rather see Furst come in for Edey over Kaufman-Renn at this point.

Wow...IU escapes from Minny.

TJD is just a monster right now. The upcoming IU | PU showdown should be a good one. This league is just a mess right now. Haven't seen Wisco slide this much in quite a while. Maryland was really impressive last night.

Boiler Up in Ann Arbor tonight. No clue how this one shakes out, but glad they've had some nice rest since Sunday.

Michigan is not good. Purdue should win handily - 10-15 points, I reckon.

ETA: Plus Jett may not play. And if he does, he won't be 100%.

I think IU can beat most teams but also can lose to most. We are on a heater at the moment for sure.

Purdue has been so consistent for a long time now and Edey is a beast and Purdue is clearly the top of the class in the B10. Then a handful of next tier teams below them.

TJD is such a stud but IU lacks depth and rely solely on him way too much.

Another fun family night at the Brez tonight.

Looks like Mailk Hall back in the lineup tonight for MSU vs. Iowa.. Much needed. Hopefully he only is used sparingly. Never seen a player go from out for the year to back in 2 weeks. wild. Pat McCaffrey still out tonight for the hawks it appears.

Go Green

MSU played like total **** all game at both ends of the floor but escapes with the win. Couldn’t believe one of those 3 shots didn’t go in for Iowa that last 8 seconds

Biggest thing I noticed from the Minny game was how many short/mid jumpers were hitting the front rim. Almost like tired legs but no real reason they should have been tired.

I didn't get to watch all the game, but I did see that on free throws at the end. Even the ones that went in were grazing front of rim.

Sparty shooting was atrocious... no way they should have won that game
Agreed. Defense was horrendous as well. So many easy bunny shots or layups simply uncontested or just plain wide open.

Thank god Malik was back.

Maryland started out slow AGAIN yesterday against Nebraska. Ended up cruising, though.

I feel bad for Nebraska - they were set to have their best season in a long time and then lost two of their three best players for the year.

The Terps get red-hot Indiana at home Tuesday.

Should be two good games early today: MSU/Purdue & UM/PSU. When's the last time Penn State has been favored over Michigan in hoops? Has it ever happened?

Nice back to back games to get him into the flow of things since you posted this.
He did have some nice minutes, especially when Edey had some early fouls vs, Mich. Still not seeing him as a starting center. Tough to compare his game with Edey, who is putting together a David Robinson or Shaq type season, but Ren is kind of a tweener. Gets banged around. Not sure he can be a guy who is better than guys like Sissoko or Omoruyi. He has been solid lately, which has been big.

They have a 7'2" freshman on the roster, Will Berg, from Sweden. I don't know much about him, but I suspect they are hoping he would "grow" into the role.

Feels like Penn St will give Purdue everything they want tonight. Maybe the IU loss last night helps avoid looking past this game to Saturday’s game.

Great bounce back game for Hood Schifino. He was terrible in Maryland so love to see him play big in this game.

Well done Hoosiers!! I couldn’t watch which was probably better for my blood pressure.
It was a hell of a game. I thought Indiana's defense was magnificent. And it wasn't like Purdue mailed it in - they played well.

TJD is on one of the great heaters I've seen. I mean, he's been good in the past. But he's always kind of let the game come to him in the past. Now, he's taking it. Reminds me of Danny Manning in '88 or Randolph Childress for Wake in the mid-'90s.

Maryland crushed Minnesota last night. Their reward? Going to East Lansing to face the Angry Izzos coming off a loss. I'm think it's going to be something like 61-50 MSU.
