Maryland totally out playing Purdue. Everything they throw up towards the rim goes in. Boilers can’t make any lineup combination work.
In the 2nd half, they shot lights out. 1st half they couldn't make anything. Luckily for the Terps, Purdue couldn't score either.
Maryland's defense is really good (UCLA & Michigan games notwithstanding) and will usually keep them in games. I thought they did a great job on Edey. Julian Reese outrebounded him, got him in some foul trouble, and kept him from getting a ton of cleanup points.
Once MD got hot in the 2nd, they could set their press. Then things just snowballed on the Boilermakers.
I still think Purdue can be a FF team, but they have weaknesses. Good thing is, there's no dominant team in CBB this year.
MD has @Nebraska, Minn, NW,
@OSU (what the hell has happened to them?), @PSU left. If the Terps can win 3 of those, they will have 12 conference wins. I'm guessing that will put them on the 6 or 7 line for the NCAAs regardless of how they do in the B1GT. They have no bad losses (in that they lost to good teams - UCLA & Michigan each smoked them by a million, though they beat UM in the rematch) and some nice wins. They've lost 2 games in the last month: by 3 at Purdue and by 5 at MSU.
