Is this a real person? I know it sounds like a silly question but EVERY WEEK this guy inside the top 10. I mean.... no one can be THAT good. He seems to always have a perfect lineup. I'm starting to think this is a player created by Fanduel to help balance out the winnings. However, if he is a real person, he should be giving out advice and charging people for that information.

 
Do you think fanduel would be dumb enough use one username every week to take more winnings? Wouldn't they be slick enough to use a different one each week?

 
They wouldn't need to use different names.

I looked at a few pages and he's in 2nd 3rd and has another 10 entries in the money that I saw on only the first few pages.

 
He's obviously spending a ton of money to have a huge amount of optimal lineups so that he is guaranteed to cash repeatedly.

 
There is no way Fan Duel is doing this. I'm looking to enter a Prime Time contest right now that is a $2 entry with over 43,000 entrants... so the prize pool is 86K and they get about 10% of that for 8600... for ONE Prime Time game with a $2 entry fee.

They are making so much money it would be ridiculously stupid and beyond comprehension that they would do this.

 
If you guys think that fanduel or draftkings can't do whatever they want with these tournaments you're not paying attention. Just look at the last 5000 or so entries. 2 guys left to play and only 3 points.

This has been discussed countless times before. If you get an entry to a tournament fanduel populates it with a default lineup full of the cheapest scrubs. It's your responsibility to go in and edit it. Every week there are lots of entries that don't get edited for various reasons.

If you seriously think FanDuel would mess around with their very lucrative business just to scrape a few more dollars off the top, you're just not thinking straight. They are the leader in a huge and still growing industry, they'd be ######ed to do anything stupid to lose credibility, risk being put out of business by lawsuits, etc.

If you're not sold on the model, fine, don't play or whatever. But the tinfoil hat stuff is silly.

They want their tourneys to get as close as possible to filling because that's how they make money. Filling it with thousands of fake entries runs counter to that goal. One way they attempt to get their tourneys filled is by adjusting the tournament size to meet the anticipated demand - case in point, the Sunday Million used to be larger, and they shrunk it. If it was all a show for "investors" they'd have left it and just backfilled it with garbage entries, no? Hell, why not make it "The Sunday Billion" and pretend that it got 900,000 entries? That would look awesome for investors (who somehow would be too oblivious to notice this massive scam you've uncovered). :tinfoilhat:

 
I work for a co. that does the same thing to fudge the numbers to meet quotas and ####t. That's obvious. The debate here is whether they have employees joining the tournaments and putting in hundreds of entries.

 
It's all calculated risk. Someone puts a whole lot of entries in and is willing to lose that amount, they only need to hit real big on one, or moderately big on a couple, or place with a bunch of entries, and they win, or break even or whatever. You are focusing on the ones they win, but look at all the ones they lose on too. I guess sometimes it takes a big amount of money to win a big amount of money and you have to be willing to risk it. As someone who doesn't have a big amount of money to play with, I'd perfer some sort of limit in the tourney's so I'd have better odds with my well thought out lineup...but I don't think there is any cheating going on.

It does seem to be a stretch. If they were based outside the US I would say they may be doing that but this company is US based.

Anyone remember the Absolute Poker site? They cheated and got busted but they were outside the US.

Why is it in a world of capitalism we always believe companies and the people who run them do the right thing when it is well known to those with real world and life experiences that they are some of the most dishonest and ruthless entities/people in the world.

Remember when online poker was hot with real cash, I bet you guys thought that was impossible to cheat on too. If there are large amounts of money changing hands and a way for people to get more of it, you can bet there is some shadiness happening, if you dont believe so you must be very very young or just naive.

Its called greed and every company and CEO in America suffers from it.

We were saying the same thing about poker websites 5 years ago. Why would these sites be any more honest?

I thought Fanduel was based in Scotland.

No one here has their head in the sand. Lots of shady people in the world.

But as far as the topic of this thread goes, a player having lots of entries or multiple players having lots of entries isn't proof of anything shady because there are many people that play on these sites professionally and they play with big money.
