Bill Belicheck a "big sissy" (1 Viewer)

Strange sequence, for sure. Clock clearly ran to "0". Then they put 2 seconds on, then 1. But the clock did run to 0 and that's when Belichek and Coughlin ran out on the field. Carey can be seen telling Belichek there is still time left and Belichek appears to brush him off. At least Belichek appeared to give a sincere "congrats" to Coughlin. As strange as the whole sequence was, it would've been arguably stranger if the coaches had to go through it twice. I think it would've been better if, after the false strat on the hand shakes, he simply watched the final 2 seconds from the sideline and then ran away.

Of course, the irony here (IMO) was that Randy Moss stuck around for the final seconds!

In Belichek's postgame interview ... did anyone else get the feeling Belichek was this close to crying?
Yeah but the camera went to Moss during those final seconds and he had that look in his eye like he wanted to go. He looked around and saw his coach heading into the locker room and realized that was not the way to go out, again.

karma eventually catches up with you - this tool took blood money from an old man, embarassed an organization by resigning minutes before his press conference...on a scribbled sheet of paper; lied about the reasons for it; cheated to win; alienated his protege and treated him like a leper for advancing his career; cheated; ran up the score on every team he could; cheated; and now runs off the field like a baby with a second left - pewee ball teaches you to play it out until there is no time on the clock - he knew darn well there was two seconds left - his interview showed he was devastated and didn't want to face the music. Disgraceful and indefensible! Well Billy boy - just wait until Congress gets hold of your cheating lackey - Goodell will not be able to "destory" him and you will be exposed even more as a cheater - your entire legacy will be tarnished and commish will have no choice but to suspend you.....karma is a %$#%^#
While this is all true, almost everyone here would trade your current coach for him. I'm pretty sure I would.

Get real. Belicheck is a scum bag. No thanks.

I don't see the big deal here. The field was mobbed so he went out and gave his congrats. The officials said to clear the field to run one more play. Instead of weeding threw a mob to the tunnel (already gave his congrats), he took off as they were clearing the field anyway. What purpose does it serve to stand there again and make him weave through the crap load of people charging the field again?

Seriously, the game was over and he gave some congrats. If the stupid clock operator didn't let the timer hit zero before resetting it, he would have been on the sideline for the last second.

I would like to know if he knew or not that there was still a few seconds left... that does not seem to be clear. That being said.... It would be a lot easier to defend him if he did not have a long list of actions that show he does not understand what the word 'classy' means.
He can't see the clock reading 00.02 on the giant scoreboard?
Hey, trust me... I am NO Patriot or Belicheck fan and like I said because of his past actions, I do tend to think he just said 'screw it- we lost and I am not waiting.' and walked off.... but LOT's of peps thought the game was over. He came across and did the congrats. I actually said to my fiance 'watch him just slap his hand and walk away.' but he actually said something to Coughlin and then headed out like you normally would. There is a possibility that he did not know. I do think he did based off of previous acts as I said because I think he is a jerk.
He knew. The referee was there telling both of them they had to run another play. He just chose to ignore him. Watch the video. The referee is there telling him.
Well, then that just confirms it. Belicheck is officially a classless jerk. Is anyone surprised?

I'm absolutely positive that I wouldn't. But thanks for trying to speak for everyone else.

I would never want him as the coach of the Seahawks. He is a loser.

Okay. I am counted among those that hate the Patriots and BB.

But, I see a HUGE difference between coming on the field when the clock went to :00 then had :.02 put back on it and what Moss did to his fellow Vikings.

This was no big deal.

I'm sure there are some exceptions, which is why I said "almost everyone." Still, I think some of you are being loftily unrealistic. Your coach steps down/retires/gets fired and Belicheck is interested in the job. I find it very hard to believe that most people wouldn't be pretty excited about that proposition.

The ref was standing right next to him trying to talk to him. BB was just ignoring him. I have a hard time believing that he made it to the other side of the field and then in the tunnel without realizing the game wasn't over.

Edited title to show it right. Don't be confused and think Yahoo Sports is saying that. It's not on their news page but on their blog page. Huge difference.

Maybe he thought the last couple of seconds in a Super Bowl automatically disappear. Aftre all, isn't that what happened in his first one?
Haha, good one!
And those :02 in 2002 would have been a kickoff, not a simple kneel-down. With some of the returners like Hakim that STL had, can understand why they were pissed. But of course, Bill has no perspective when it does not benefit him I guess.

I agree. Much ado about nothing (and I am also somewhat of a Pats hater)Belichik went out and shook Coughlin's hand. He was was, essentially, trying to do the sportsmanlike thing and concede that the game was over and the last :01 did not need to be played. The officials should have just let the last :01 run off the clock.

This is true. Most every fan that wants to win would be happy to have Belichick as their head coach. There are some that won't. No doubt. Some are here. But this guy is without question one of the greatest coaches in history. You may hate the guy. But there isn't a lot of debate for that one.J

Hi JoeAs a LONG suffering Jet fan I would much rather stay the course with Mangini than bring in a guy like bellichick. I firmly believe he achieved the success he has had through Tom Brady and cheating. Both of which would not be realistic with the Jets so I would not want him coaching my team.If he returned the $1M he stole from the Hess family, apologized for the lies he told about leaving the Jets, his disgraceful press conference, treatment of Mangini and finally disclosed the full extent of his cheating ways - maybe I could deal with him being the towel boy. I find him a reprehensible human being and would never want him as the face of my franchise. Would you want Barry Bonds on your baseball team? BTW - before anyone calls me out - I hold Parcells in just as bad light for what he did to the Pats when he came to the JEts as I do Bellicheat. At least Parcells won honestly though.

That's fine kiddnets. I believe you when you say you feel like that. I'm just saying that if it ever came to a real decision, most Jets fans would jump at the chance. I see it here in Knoxville with Steve Spurrier. Spurrier used to be the most hated guy in Knoxville as his team always beat Tennessee. But any knowledgeable fan knew that deep down, he was a fantastic coach and we'd love to have him.J

I'd be interested in if most Jet fans think like me - he really trashed our franschise and I honestly feel that he cheated - maybe I'll start a separate thread on this. I have a feeling the Jets would be one place he would not be welcome. I have a feeling others feel that way as well - interesting debate though

Does Bill Billicheck receive any punishment for his improper behavior of leaving the field early of only the biggest game of the season? Seems this was never addressed, and it certainly should not be excused by Goodell.

Wow, how the mighty have fallen. The fall of the Roman Empire.
Whoa, wait right there. This isn't even close to the fall of the roman empire. This is like the fall of Milli Vanilli
Sarcasm, ever heard of it?
No, but I've definitely heard of "poor use of sarcasm"Yep, definitely.
If you couldn't tell that was sarcasm considering the title of the thread, I've got ocean front property to sell you in Arizona.

you guys really need to get a life.so you're saying that no coach has ever left the field with :01 (which the clock actually read) left.I know I've seen it.But now the commish should come down hard on BB for your personal feeling towards BB. He should take away their 2009 1st maybe for leaving field early (that sounds about right JA)GET OFF YOUR COUCH AND GET A LIFE
