This unit has built its reputation on relentless pressure, and I would’ve bet the house they’d get to the quarterback at least once. Instead, they walked away empty-handed a result that feels almost surreal given their track record.

Decent OCs realize how to beat this scheme (quick reads/releases), and it doesnt really require studs OTs to do it. It just takes a QB who can make quick initial reads, and the wilingness to play "dump-off" ball. Teams with legit QBs take advantage of it with ease/alacrity.

Today was the same thing that happened against the Chargers. The Steelers showed up expecting to generate pressure by default. When they didnt, and also started getting gouged by the run, they made zero adjustments. Eventually, their offensivive ineptitide wore the defense out...and that was that.

They are just not a very good football team at the moment. Their last 17 games,not including playoffs (which was also horrible), they are 6-11 with a pile of head-shakingly bad losses due in large part to being wedded to outdated schemes/attitudes on game day.
