Team Legacy

We all heard the reports of the possibility of McGahee landing in New York.

Well, last night, I had a dream that McGahee was traded to the Giants and the Bills drafted Marshawn Lynch. >> Yes, I probably need to see a therapist...

I haven't kept up with the Bills or their coaching staff, but what do you make of McGahee?

Is he a guy you want to build around long term or if the price is right, trade now and get a back like Marshawn in the draft?

He is a freak!

Marv is just playing chess.....

1. Marv will demand his agent gets a first or second round pick to trade him.

2. Drew will be unable to make that happen (he's been average at best). Drew will inform Willis his worth is not that what they thought it to be (ie..you suck).

3a. Willis will resurrect his carrier with good performances, study habits and a team first attitude. Or..

3b. Willis will whine, be unprepared, and continue to be average at best.

4. If 3a happens he will get a new contract next year at a much more reasonable price (or be franchised) for the Bills. Should 3b. happens, bye Willis hello 2008 first round draft pick!

:headbang:

OR Marv will trade him for 2nd rounder then draft Lynch.

The last thing the bills need to do is spend a high draft pick on another skill position player. They've stunk for the past 5 years because they haven't focused on the non-skill types. I have no problem letting willis go, but replace him with a committee of Thomas and a 4th round draft pick and spend those early picks rebuilding the rest of the team.

Anthony Thomas is a free agent. They could re-sign him I guess. But if they can get a 2nd rd. pick then say goodbye to Willis in Buffalo.

I'm ambivalent towards McGahee these days. He clearly has the potential to be a great RB if he wants to be, but I'm not sure Buffalo is the place for him. If they can get a good deal, I'm ready to move on without him. If they can't get a good deal, then hopefully he wakes up and realizes that he needs to have a big year to get the type of contract he feels entitled to.

This is where the hypothetical breaks down. I don't think Rosey ever has that type of conversation with his clients.

:fro: I think it comes down to what they can get for him. If it's only a bag of peanuts, then might as well just keep him and have him play out the last year of his contract with him motivated. I would go a little farther though and say as a Buffalo fan, I really just plain tired with his antics. I look forward to the day that he's not on the team. Lastly, since I firmly believe that Marv Levy = a good football team, I'm willing to put my full trust in Marv.

I'd rather play in traffic than have A-Train compete with a 4th round pick for our starting HB...
