Black Friday deals (9 Viewers)

We just put hardwood floors in on our main level, debating a Roomba since we have dogs that are constantly shedding. Anyone have one they care to share their thoughts on?
I have one. It does a decent job. No dogs though. I don’t know how it would handle a lot of hair. We named it maggot. We’re easily amused.

Cheaper robo vacs can have a tough time with robo vacs. We bought a roomba from Costco that clogged constantly. This summer we bought a Dreame that handles the dog hair with no problem and also mops

Get one. The end.
I guess I'll weigh in here. First off, no dog, so no inundation of fur to worry about.
I had a Roomba 675 (IIRC) and it lasted around 1-2 years. I've got "hardwood" floors and I guess it did an ok job. My main complaint was that it often took a few hours to complete the job (2BR apt).
After it died, I had to do the job myself and found it took at most 20 minutes and I did a better job of it.
So I guess I was just using technology for technology's sake. I'm (back to) old school now.

What's the best option these days for Disney+/ESPN+? I'm switching away from Verizon, so I'll lose the access I had thru that account.

Don't need Max or Hulu.

We have a dog and a cat. What I love most is it getting under most furniture like the couch and bathroom vanity. Yes it can take time.

One think to watch out for is all the major streaming options have limited espn (and it's family) to 1 tv at a time. Pretty annoying. We have sling and /disny+/hulu/espn and srill can only watch any espn on 1 TV at a time.

Final tally this year:
  • Vita-Mix - requested graduation/Christmas gift
  • Apple Pencil - requested Christmas gift
  • Bluetooth transmitter for TV - I just wanted it, it was inexpensive. We have a kid who works the overnight shift and I feel bad watching football with sound
  • Webcam - I need one for work since I have monster TV for my monitor and the laptop is next to it, so I'm always looking 30 degrees away from the laptop camera at the big TV monitor.
  • Suitcase for wife
  • Hex wrench set I needed.
  • Max (6 mo), Peacock (1 yr), Paramount+ (2 mo)

Ugh. Really? When did that start?

Not real sure but I got sling (again) after having the issue with hulu/disney bundle. Thought that would take care of it. Espn apparently recognizes the 1 tv across platforms. Sucks. I cant have it on inside AND outside.

Eta: later I actually found where sling specifically mentions you get 4 tvs with sling orange+blue...except the espn family and a couple others.

Interesting. I use youtubetv and would need to subscribe to Disney/espn separately

Any good deals on a gaming laptop? Looking for high end. 4070 or 4080 rtx. 32 memory. Oled screen if possible
I'm looking for a laptop too. Initially I was thinking a nice portable office machine maybe 14 inches but now thinking it would be nice to try steam and occasionally be able to play games. The gaming machines mostly look heavy though. My ideal would be something that I can play on but still as light as possible and under $1000. Does such a thing exist? 14 inch might still be ok to keep weight down .

I've have a MacBook Air I'm about to sell. M2, 2022, 14", 24GB, Sonoma 14.6.1

Not used for any gaming or heavy use, just internet browsing. Clean. Midnight Blue (I think).

Also a 16 MacBook Pro but not on me right now (not sure specs). Same very basic usage (low). Owned it prior to the Air (above). Space Grey (darker, not silver).

Yeah thats not s gaming laptop

Ended up getting a pellet stove for the shop for $150 off at L&M Fleet Supply.

The one in there had a control board go ****-up, and of course the board was obsolete so couldn't find in anywhere. L&M had my exact brand. Had to modify the platform and vent position, but other than that pretty easy.

I got some Beats Studio Pro headphones and a disc golf basket.

I'm looking for a combo air fryer / toaster oven today...

Maybe I'm inebriated but I've read this sentence 15 times and can't figure it out.
I can’t give this the ole laugh emoji

I’m 99.9% sure I typed dog hair. This looks like one of the weird glitches in the simulation
I'd say Deebot and Eufy are cheaper (less expensive and less known, anyway). Both did at least as well as the Roomba, which was our least favorite of the three brands.

Just lost my **** with Sling. Customer service is non existent. So I am back in the game looking for a new provider. Any holiday deals out there?

Amazon started its sale today. My wife purchased a couple things already, but I haven't seen anything good so far. All the sites offering early deals haven't had any amazing deals. I'm preparing for another BF letdown this year.

Picked up a Google TV device for 25% off. Probably more than I need and a little more than I wanted to spend
but my Chromecast seems to be underperforming on my home theater. I think it's the location.

Prefer the Chromecast for the basement to cast from my phone easily if need be for workouts etc

This is way better than my old Chromecast. Built in Ethernet really helps than the jack I had

Wouldn't recommend it for just streaming unless you are fully in the Google ecosystem but much better for the home theater

I’m just watching for cheap streaming service subs - last year was great.
Interesting. How did these come across/shown?

That's my post from last year. I don't remember where I found the info, probably just googled "black friday streamers".

HD and Lowe’s appliances on sale atm.

Bought an electric stovetop from Home Depot. Wife has been complaining about ours for a little while now..

Bad news is it gets delivered on black Friday so she can’t use it for Thanksgiving

adding on to my previous question.............anyone have an indoor and/or outdoor pizza oven that they like? Any preference to indoor / outdoor?
Yes, Breville Pizzaiolo. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/bre...MGbmZ3rifRUQZyTb63tzhdGadYXD-8txoCoxIQAvD_BwE

Since the Super Bowl, I've made 103 neapolitan, 1 deep dish, and 2 gluten-free pizzas in it.

It drops to $700 at times, I'm sure it will on actual Black Friday - check the camel price history. https://camelcamelcamel.com/product/B08R8YZR32?context=search

Warning: it makes really reliable good pizzas. Some people really want to do battle with their pizza ovens and show dominance over them by managing to eke out 75% good pizzas. This thing has an idiot button on it that just makes good pizza 99% of the time (I occasionally screw up the launch into the oven). So if you'd rather fight with a vent and rotate mid-bake and get the coals properly distributed, this will disappoint.
