Blair White or Anthony Gonzalez? (1 Viewer)

Gonzalez unitl he gets hurt. But that might be while tying his shoes before the game.

Anthony Gonzalez WR-IND is out indefinitely with a broken shoe lace.

I was listening to Moving the Chains last night on the drive home. Tim and Pat were discussing the relationship that has developed between Manning and White. Then one of them said "over or under for White catches on Monday night is 8". They both went with the over. :lmao:

Strange, considering he's likely the #4 WR. But maybe PM is more comf with BW than AG at this point? Also, he will be a mismatch on the nickel/dime coverage and without D Clark, he'll get more looks as a result. Garcon also having a hammy issue could bump White's value even more(what if Garcon tweaks it during the game?)..I have to roll with White this week, i'm incredibly thin at WR in a deep league due to injuries and Byes. I am , however, concerned about Glass Gonzo poaching a bunch of his targets. Hope Pat and Tim are right

I can see how this would be the case and even though, I too, have to run with White, but even if I had both on my team, I would go with White. It seems as though Gonzalez has been there forever, but the first year he split time with Harrison, the next couple he was out and now he has been out again. While he may have a much better grasp of the offense, Manning in the heat of a game is going to go with the guy he feels most comfortable with. If the reports are true about his gaining Manning's trust, I could easily see a 7 reception, 50 yard game for White. Either way, it is going to be really interesting to see how the Colts play without 2 of their top 3 targets.

In leagues that count TEs the same as WRs, does anybody like Jacob Tamme > White or AG?
While I do believe you can throw him in the conversation (White vs. Gonzalez vs. Tamme), I am not sure you would get a better answer in regards to starting him over the other two. Personally, I would be a little hesitant to start him over the other two, just based on the fact that I am guessing he has the least amount of reps with Manning and we know he has the least amount of playing experience.

But isn't Tamme a "3rd year receiver"?

I'm going to wait a game to see how the distribution goes. Somebody is going to have to also replace the routes and catches of Dallas Clark and that could end up being Gonzalez.

There are so many injuries of the skill position players on the Colts that I don't think Peyton himself knows how things will shake out with regards the distribution.

(RotoWire) Garcon (hamstring) did not practice Thursday, the ESPN 1070 am Indianapolis reports.

Analysis: It's worrisome that he missed the first practice after Indy's bye, as that decreases the likelihood he's just getting a day of rest. Check to see if he practices the next two days, but this is about the last injury the Colts need with Dallas Clark and Austin Collie out.

Just posted this in the Reggie Wayne thread, but realized that it may have been more relevant in this thread. It looks like Blair White is the only one healthy. Wayne and Garcon may both be limited. Blair White may be the #3 receiver on game day, but I am betting he gets a lot of looks.

I've posted this in other Gonzalez/White threads but I'll do so here one more time. I have joined two separate Colts message boards this week to ask Colt fans specifically just this question. The answer from Colts fans OVERWHELMINGLY is Gonzalez, Gonzalez, Gonzalez. 1 out of 50 or so said Blair.

I'm staring Gonzalez.

I think I am going to start Gonzalez over Branch here. Think there is more upside as that Houston vs Indy game could be a shoot out and want a piece of Indy's passing attack for that one.

#Colts Friday practice: Forgot a guy. WR Anthony Gonzalez, like Garcon, was full. And in case anyone asks, WR Reggie Wayne looks good. 12 minutes ago via TweetDeck

Because Colts fans have more access to closed practices?

That's good info. Thanks!Still, I went and picked up Blair White as the lotto ticket to hold till this all shakes out. If I don't get a glimpse of a return, I'll just dump him on Tuesday and start anew. At least I am not tempted to start him.

As a Wayne/Garcon owner in PPR, this looks  to me.

I know for a fact that he will throw to whoever is open - no favorites. And I have no clue who its going to be.

I know some guys are "injury prone", but I love when people write a guy off completely just because he maybe had some bad luck with injuries. Gonzalez is a classic example. Why give up on him completely when we know he has talent, is in a great system, etc.? Yeah, maybe he's not the toughest guy in the NFL, but when the rest of my league glosses over him as injury prone, I'll snag him off the WW on a flyer and see if it pans out.

Bump. I have both of these guys and have to pick one to start. I guess I can wait until pregame to hear more news, but would appreciate any insight as to who might get the start. I know that starting might not necessarily translate to the most playing time or targets, but it's at least a little something.

I have both as well. We just don't know anything - and I have heard that Indy has closed practices so even the beat writers have to guess . . . Monday night may just be a feeling out period , but if you have to catchup to someone on Monday night, I thinkg you roll the dice with Gonzalez, he's more talented . . .

Have both as well. going with AG myself, but not very comfortable about it. 51-49 gut feeling.

Drastic measures for drastic times: Have you considered starting them both?

Trying writing a full sentence first with proper grammar and someone may understand you.
Ok, let me spell it out for you. Peyton Manning will go to Wayne and Garcon often on Monday night and if you are in a position where you have to start Blair White or Anthony Gonzalez, you're probably playing for a high draft pick next year if it's a dynasty / keeper league,. Is that better? Of course if you drafted a lot of players on the same bye week I would go with Blair Witch Project since Gonzo hasn't gotten his feet wet yet

Is this a dynasty thread? No. So assuming it is a dynasty thread is great work on your part.

Telling us Manning will throw to Wayne and Garcon a ton on Monday night definitely helps us White and Gonzalez owners since we had no idea who Manning throws to on a weekly basis.

Damn, are you being dense just to piss me off, or does it just come naturally? I not only included mentioning dynasty, but I also mentioned bye week starts and said to go with Blair White because Gonzalez hasn't played for most of the year (all if you want to say so). I mentioned Wayne and Garcon so no one would do something stupid like start both of them (White and Gonzalez), thus reading between the lines

Another Indy player.

Another gamble.

I believe AG is healthy.

Why?

He practised all week.

If AG is healthy, then he will play the slot WR since that is what he does and that is the position Austin Collie vacated.

Blair will only be relevant if the Garcon injury rumours are true.

I have no stats to provide however common sense would dictate that Indy is in a 3-WR set for the majority of snaps when Dallas was healthy and will probably go to even more 3-WR sets.

AG is walking into a very huge opportunity and has shown that he does have the talent (when healthy).
