Blair White or Anthony Gonzalez? (1 Viewer)

Gonzalez - Was a first round pick presumably 1st round talent (Indy is pretty good at judging wr talent)

He is a 3rd year receiver which is typically the breakout year

He has had two fairly solid seasons in the NFL with a couple of very solid 100 plus and 2 td games

He has practiced all week

THe question that I have been asking myself is Gonzalez or Austin Collie (when he gets back from injury). I'd like to believe that Gonzalez will take over in that slot but Collie has been very good.

I know Gonzalez practiced all week, but the fact he's still listed as questionable has me concerned that he may not be as good to go as we think. Anyone else concerned with the questionable tag going into the Monday night game?

Bump. I have both of these guys and have to pick one to start. I guess I can wait until pregame to hear more news, but would appreciate any insight as to who might get the start. I know that starting might not necessarily translate to the most playing time or targets, but it's at least a little something.
Drastic measures for drastic times: Have you considered starting them both? :wall:
LOL. I sure have, especially since I'm playing against Peyton.

He did practice all week.We will not know any more information until Monday night.

Trying writing a full sentence first with proper grammar and someone may understand you.
Ok, let me spell it out for you. Peyton Manning will go to Wayne and Garcon often on Monday night and if you are in a position where you have to start Blair White or Anthony Gonzalez, you're probably playing for a high draft pick next year if it's a dynasty / keeper league,. Is that better? Of course if you drafted a lot of players on the same bye week I would go with Blair Witch Project since Gonzo hasn't gotten his feet wet yet
gonzo is better than garcon by a lot. sorry boutcha.

haha, actually i wasn't fishing. It's just the truth. Sure, Gonzalez has been constantly injured but when healthy he is a much better overall player than garcon. I've watched mote football than the last 8 games of last season, which i suppose it what you are basing your fishing comment on. sorry but garco just isn;t really any good. he has peyton manning which is the only reason you even know his name today.

Puhlease stop with the "Gonzalez is better than Garcon" argument. Speaking as a Colts homer, I can vouch that it isn't true -- by a longshot.

Now between Gonzalez and White for this Monday? In that scenario, I would go with Gonzo.

ETA: All bets are off if Gonzo isn't truly healthy Monday, which is always possible with him.

LOL. Gonzo is a FAR superior talent to Garcon. Gonzalez was a first rounder and productive by himself. Garcon is good because of Manning. PERIOD.

Any news on this situation as game time approaches? Anyone have a better idea of who will be starting in the slot?

If you have Tamme, he might be the play here.

If White and Gonzo are splitting time in the slot, Tamme may be the better option as he'll be on the field more and was drafted as a future replacement to Clark.

Gonzales was a great pickup for those of us that got him. In this offense he will be PPR gold! Of course today he is not doing to well, but it seems that it's all due to chemistry between Manning and him. His understanding of what his QB wants is just not there. But it will definitely come with time.

Of course i thought he got hurt there on that last catch, lol. Happy to see him back in there.

He wasn't hurt? I saw a lot of White after that and never saw Gonzalez in after when he got slammed OB.

He came back in after the OB play but misran a route later on during a key 3rd down and Peyton was visibly pissed at him. Gonzo didn't play again from that point and White took over in the slot.

I saw that too... Seemed that Peyton benched Gonzo after that play. When I saw the replay, I thought Gonzo had slipped or pointed to his foot/leg - I'm hoping he didn't tweak something on that play and that he was out for those last series b/c he misran the route and not for some other reason.I thought Gonzo played better as the game wore on.

white played two series and then gonzo was back in. White played very few snaps last night. It's pretty obvious white can be dropped.gonzo will be outproducing garcon in a few weeks.

I was at the game and it looked to me like Gonzo was a little gimpy after the Pollard hit. The trainers had him on the bench looking at his leg or knee, after the incompletion. The offense was really in control mode after that, so it is hard to read if he could have gone back in. My 2 cents.

Highly doubtful that Gonzo will be outproducing Garcon over an extended period of time short of an injury to Garcon. Assuming Gonzo even can stay healthy that long, Collie's return will put a big dent in Gonzo's playing time.

gonzo sure looked dinged up after that sideline hit. then the next play he looked very slow to the spot of a throw. he looked kinda slow and lacking explosion all game really. its possible the injuries and rest have took away some of his athleticism, not sure if it will return. he did have a fantastic diving catch over the middle of the field tho.

(Rotoworld) Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez's Week 8 injury was to his left knee.

Analysis: It's not the same knee in which Gonzalez tore his PCL last season, but is a big concern for such an injury-prone player nonetheless. Coach Jim Caldwell did acknowledge in his Tuesday press conference that Gonzalez emerged from Monday night's game "beat up." Blair White is next in line at slot receiver.

Any further word on this injury? I didn't see the game, so am not sure how it looked. I was somewhat pleased with the number of targets and receptions he had in his first game back. I was hoping I finally have had some waiver wire luck, but this injury may be the monkeywrench. Any info is appreciated.

from watching it looked like a knee bruise (contusion) when he was tackled hard out of bounds

The Colts did not allow Mike Hart (ankle) or Anthony Gonzalez (knee) to meet with reporters on Wednesday.

They aren't going to practice, and Phillip B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star believes the development "casts doubt on their availability" for Week 9. Joseph Addai (shoulder) is not due back, so the Colts may have to roll with a banged-up Donald Brown as their primary ball carrier against the Eagles.
