You may call me old time, but I am dissapointed it's so hard to find good leagues with the last to first waiver method still used. Seems everyone is switching to bbids over the last few years and quite frankly I am sick of them!

Last to first helps keep leagues stableized giving the worst or unluckiest teams the first chance to .

improve each week! The way it should be.

BBIDS just help keep the best teams good!

Especially Dynasty leagues!

Should be interesting poll. I would imagine I will be minority here

but it is my strong feelings and I will debate anyone on this feeling in an attempt to

get the fantasy world back where it belongs!

How would your feel about OPEN BIDDING?

Use blind bidding in my basketball league. Sometimes i like it sometimes i don't. Doesn't really promote competition, occasionally have to settle for my second/backup options as a waiver pickup. It can completely suck.

Where else in life is blind bidding applied to anything? I can't really think of one.

I play in one league with open bidding, (a draft value league and love it)

but it's more in tune with the draft value system we use. It's been around so long. Just so hard to run from a commish stand point! I used to run draft value leagues. I would bet not 20 FBG guys have ever experianced them. I wrote a report on them for a couple big forums like this to try and boost the popularity of them.

These leagues are sacred and the best secreat of all for how to run a good fantasy football league! Only a select few get to ever experiance them.

I tried convincing my league to go from Worst-To-First (WTF) to a Blind Bidding system, but many in the league are resistant to change.

In the WTF system you are basically rewarding teams who don't know how to draft, or who are unlucky. On the converse, you are unfairly penalizing a team, just because they have a winning team.

The problem with Blind Bidding is that the better teams have lower marginal utility for mediocre players, where as the weaker teams value the mediocre players higher, because they need more help. This leaves the better teams free to take speculative gambles on prospects and save the majority of their money for studs.

I don't mind WTF waiver wires in free leagues, to promote competitive-balance, but for pay leagues it's absurd. For some competitive balance, I also proposed giving teams that lose each week a token amount of WW money, 5 with a starting pool of 200.

In that WTF $$$ league I am seriously considering drafting players who will be out/unproductive the first few weeks, just so I have a shot at the waiver wire gems. Key players for this strategy would be: P Manning, S Smith, B Marshall and McGahee.

Last year I was in second-to-last place after week 3, and went 9-1 the final 10 weeks, finished second overall and ran the table for the superbowl. My key aquisitions were: D Bowe, E Graham, J Chatman.

Although I prefer Blind Bidding for all leagues, a case can be made for W-T-F waivers in dynasty leagues. Helps keeps the worser teams competitive, which is important IMO for dynasty purposes.

Of my 25 leagues only Misfits and mine and one of my ffl leagues use WTF.

I can always join more MISFITS. Right Steve?

Just so I understand, you dont like Blind Bids right?In all seriousness, its your opinion. Like you said, dont be in anymore Blind Bidding leagues. Its the same if someone says I am not drafting a QB in the 1st round. Some people love and some dont. I happen to agree with the perspective that Blind Bidding is great for redraft/semi keeper and not the great for dynasty. While I understand your sentiment to help the bad teams, what happens if there is a team that is undefeated but plays the lowest scoring team every week. I have seen it happen. Shouldnt they get a chance to improve? What is their recourse. They are winning, but shouldnt be if they played anyone else. (This only happened for the first 7 weeks and ultimately they made the playoffs but got knocked out 1st round)
