Blockbuster Trade Help! (1 Viewer)

Hey guys I'm so considering offering a trade to the owner of Brees and Watson. He covets Gurly and I lost Beckham. I'm thinking of offering Gurley and Baldwin (or Allen) and any of my three streaming QBs Alex Smith, Plamer or Rivers for Brees, Nelson and CMac (he also has McCoy and anderson) It's standard scoring with 5 point bonus for rushing/receiving and 5 for 300 passing.

Am am I nuts and should just stand pat and stream QBs?

TIA

First off, I'd rather keep Allen (assuming that's Keenan Allen) over Baldwin.

What are your other RBs and WRs?  Downgrading from Gurley to CMC leaves you what at RB now?  And I assume that's Jordy Nelson you're asking for in return?

As long as CMC wouldn't be your new #1 RB afterwards, then I like that deal for you. Gurley's schedule is brutal, and I worry that the Rams offense being "fixed" by a few big games is going to turn out to be smoke and mirrors.  Gurley got absolutely shut down by Seattle last week, and he still has to play them again.  It's a decent upgrade at QB (and with Brees having his bye already there's no need to roster so many QBs, so you can drop them for waiver lotto tickets or handcuffs).  I think CMC is starting to carve out his role in the Panthers offense, and we're going to see him start to take a big step forward as the season rolls on.

I am not so sure that Brees is any type of upgrade over Alex Smith at this point.  Smith is playing outstanding and I don't see that changing.  I wouldn't complicate things with trying to get Brees.  Roll with Smith and you will be fine.

Jordy is a bit dinged and I haven't heard the extent (although it seems to be nothing serious) so you may be able to use that to your advantage to lower the price some.  I don't think Gurley keeps up his pace of the first few so selling high isn't a bad thing.  I am not a fan of McCaffrey as far as him putting up serviceable fantasy numbers this year.  He is ok but nothing that I would use as my cornerstone RB this year.

I would think you should start with Gurley & Jordy and see what more you could get.  If he is really pushing for a WR back I would for sure prefer to lose Baldwin over Keenan Allen.  Without knowing the rest of your RB's and WR's it makes it difficult to work on a counter offer.

Hey thanks for the response. I have Freeman, Coleman, Ingram and Kamara so I'm kind of set with options at RB. Also, have Hilton. It's a smaller league but ciutthroat and good money on the line. Gurley really fell during this draft so that's how I managed to get Freeman and some decent WRs. But I waited on QB and took Luck and that's blown up in my face. Just not sure I'm a believer in Alex smith.

Hey thanks so much for the response. I put some other info in the response to wiwilies above. I'm kinda nervous about smith myself but you have me reconsidering. CMAc wouldn't be my main RB. I have Frreman and Ingram. He also has Montgomery, McCoy and Anderson. I doubt he trades McCoy though.

And now we have the Alex Smith back to earth game (246 yd & 1 TD).   Did you end up making the deal?
