Some of them seem a bit up towards the top, but some seem OK. It's weird.

Couple of tweaks to the default forum theme have been implemented based on feedback in this thread:
 

• Text color in posts and forum index pages has been made darker for better contrast.
  
• "Back to top" link is back at the bottom of each page. 50 threads/posts make for pretty long pages, so I can see the need.

The quote function doesn't work. I tried to create my own quote box but it stuck my text inside the box and wouldn't let me edit it.

If I just quote one line of text

It works just fine.
