Digging a little deeper ... Below are the avg rushing ranks of each team. Tampa is 13 and probably #1 over the last 3 weeksI'm sure someone else covered it above, but the last 5 weeks (vs. the Lions)
Week 6: McGahee 10-37, 1-2
Week 7: G.Bernard 7-27, 5-32
Week 9: J.Randle 14-26, 3-18
Week 10: M.Forte 17-33, 4-16
Week 11: L.Bell 18-36, 4-52
0 rushing TD's amongst that group. As good as Tampa's O-line is playing, I can't feel real comfortable playing Rainey this week. I don't even think you can bank on the receiving yardage with Leonard there. If he's still going, I'll probably jump back on for Week 14.
Chi - 18th - Give Det credit for this but Forte had 95 22 and a TD 1st game ...Chicago was terrible as a whole the 2nd game
Cin - 19th - Bernard only ran 7 time and avg 3.9. He was 15 for 28 (1.9) the game before and 5 for 18 (3.6) the game after.
Cle - 26th - McGhee is old and terrible (Ogbonnaya had a great game)
Dal - 28th - Randle is a backup and a terrible RB
Pit - 30th - 90 Total yards isn't that bad (Pitt was too busy passing all over Det to run)
This is a reasonable fear. I think you have to hope for the TD. He's going to get force fed the ball because that's Schiano's MO and always has been. Tampa's D is good enough to keep the game close against a team probably reeling a little bit after a tough loss. I'm starting him and not necessarily hoping for too great of things hopefully 20 car 60 yds. 1TD and maybe 2 rec. for 20 yds. That would still be better than most backs have played this year. The Tampa Bay RB under Schiano is as close as you get to a RB under Kubiak or Shanahan.I'm sure someone else covered it above, but the last 5 weeks (vs. the Lions)

IIRC, Rainey has always been an above average pass catcher and that has helped him catch on in the league. I would definitely start him over Bell whose line has not done anything for him this year. The only reason I'm not starting him in PPR over a player like Chris Johnson or le'veon bell is because Rainey doesn't seem to get receptions as much.
What do you guys think?
Agreed. I wasn't feeling him against Carolina, and I screwed up and started him the week before against Detroit. You know I'd start Glennon too if I was in a pinch. I think the Buffalo defense fanboys are in for a shock.hes a must start this week
Over Murray?...no wayI really want to start him because I think he may have a big game...
But can I really sneak him in there over the likes of Demarco Murray, Andre Brown, and Giovani Bernard? Man..idk tough call here
This is the problem- its playoff week. Most teams with Rainey at this point he's probably their #3 or #4 RB. Do you sit down Reggie Bush to play Rainey? LeVeon? MojoD? Its a heck of a gamble with a short track record to go on at this point.Over MJD?hes a must start this week

I know he's gonna be ranked high because of the matchup, but this isnt a regular season game where a bad team picked up a gem and its a no-brainer to plug him in. For most remaining teams its going to mean sitting down a legit RB2 to play Rainey.
That might be a bit of a stretch...take away the Lion game and Lacy has been very productive....even after the Rodgers injury. As of now he's in over Lacy. I think he gets as many touches and does more in the passing game. Rodgers' absence is killing that whole offense.
I agree. Rodgers threw 2 passes against the Bears and Lacy had 150-1TD. He had 83 total yards against Philly. 48-1TD against a tough Giants D. He also had 158-1TD against Minny. That might be a bit of a stretch...take away the Lion game and Lacy has been very productive....even after the Rodgers injury. As of now he's in over Lacy. He's not- my point is people are throwing around the term 'must-start' and none of these guys are must start. Peyton Manning is must start. Calvin Johnson is must start. If your running backs are AP and Eddie Lacy, Bobby Rainey sure as #### isnt a must start. Nor is MJD. He's a reasonable RB2 and a good flex, either one. Its one thing to sit down Ryan Mathews but are you really gonna sit down Murray or Bush or Lacy?Steven jackson jsut put up 80+ yards and two tds vs buffaloThis is the problem- its playoff week. since when is MJD a must start?
If I sat down Lacy on Thanksgiving I'd of made the right call. Heck, if I started Jennings over Lacy it was the right call. Prob will sit in favor of Lacy and McCoy.Nice game today although it really should have been bigger. You guys rolling him out vs sf?
Debating this right now. My RB trio consists of Morris, Stacy and Rainey...and with every passing week, it looks like Morris is the one I should be benching. WAS offense is in shambles.Nice game today although it really should have been bigger. You guys rolling him out vs sf?
The only sure fire rb on my roster is vereen. After that I got donald brown, rainey, and the Saints rbs. I think rainey is my best bet as my rb2battlebaby said:Debating this right now. TB's o-line has really been opening up holes for Rainey...he even found room against CAR. Think I'm keeping things rolling with him next week...SF's run defense isn't nearly as rough as DET's or CAR's.
Hope it worked out for u. I have him, as well as Martin, and I'm stumped. I think Martin is the starter next year but I have no idea how to value Rainey given James. Which one is the primary backup? Somebody smarter will have to answer that.Does this guy have any value from a Dynasty perspective? Curious to hear opinions on him going forward beyond this season.
He should stick around the league as a 3rd down back. He'll take a backseat to Martin once he's back, but he should still have a role. Good depth RB to own...dynasty pool of RBs is so terrible right now, it's great to have a guy that's already proven that he can produce if given the opportunity.Does this guy have any value from a Dynasty perspective? Not sure he has much value if he stays with TB next year. He could beat out James on the depth chart but even that much is unknown. He will most likely be behind Martin when he comes back.Does this guy have any value from a Dynasty perspective? Curious to hear opinions on him going forward beyond this season.
Im starting him over sproles, p. Thomas, d. Brown, and ballAnybody desperate enough to start Rainey against SF? It is Lacy or Rainey for me and I can't risk the zero if Lacy is a GTD.
Anyone with me?

Main reason i chose rainey is i know he will get the carries. Cant say that for the others. Tb has been playing well. Could also be a letdown game for SF.

I'm starting him as a FLEX over Vincent Jackson (non-PPR). Starting RBs are Murray and Alf
top 10 run defensehe has done really well at home. his struggles on the road were against detroit and carolina. two of the toughest run def. SF is middle of the pack, i know the past few years they have been a top run def but they are not this year. after the emotional game last week vs sea they get to go on the road and play a pretty good tb squad who plays hard. I could see 80 yards and a td. maybe more if they can control the ball and force kapernick into mistakes. i could see tb def giving sf some problems....maybe I am just trying to make rainey sound better cause I pretty much have to play him, but I think hes a better start this week than many rankings are saying
I see thomas ranked over rainey on a few sites and I dont see it. With sproles back he just is not getting the carries. I would prob play mathews and rainey from that groupIn PPR, SF is the 14th ranked defense against running backs this year fantasy wise, which does to me mean middle of the pack. However, over the last three weeks they have only given up 37 points to opposing RBs, lowest in the league. TB has been playing well lately, but I think this is a very tough matchup. I'm still debating starting him just because of the workload but I don't have other great options either (need two from P. Thomas, R. Matthews, Woodhead, Ivory and Rainey).
Dude, you are wearing beer goggles here - I get it, he's your only date so you gotta like him, I'm unfortunately almost in the same boat, but you need to ease back the expectations... After further consideration I think I am going thomas over rainey. Good luck to those who start rainey. I still think hes a pretty decent start.
